Missouri Record Fish Stories - Brown Trout

UPDATE: Since this video first aired, this state record has been broken twice in 2019. The latest “pole and line” record brown trout was caught at Lake Taneycomo on Sept 4, 2019. It was caught by Bill Babler of Blue Eye and weighed 40-pounds, 6-ounces.

The Missouri state record was beaten Saturday February 23 2019. 34.6 pounds is now the new record brown trout.

If you ever go to Lileys Landing resort that Phil Liley owns check out the brown trout he found dead floating next to his dock. Conservation estimated to be around 40lbs. I believe Phil found it not long after it died. Huge!

I love these state record stories about Missouri but I would also love to hear the same style and content about all the states if yall decide to grow the channel. Just go state to state to state dont jump around from state to state

While catching a state record fish is an awesome achievement, I wish there was a better way to ensure the fish lives. I do a lot of catfishing and would have a tough decision to make if I caught a possible state record. In my opinion, something that has lived long enough to reach a monstrous size deserves respect and to keep its life.
