I felt this video in my soul. I got Bell's Palsey from a viral ear infection in 2019. It lasted almost 4 weeks and it was a miserable experience. I couldn't say B's and P's properly (which the fact that it's called Bell's Palsey is extremely unfortunate) and all the small movement with your mouth that you take for granted, I could not do. After anti virals and other meds, I regained full control of my face. I'm so glad you're seeing improvement!! I wish you 100% restoration!

This is my first time ever seeing one of your videos and it’s crazy that it’s about Bell’s Palsy….I’ve had it TWICE!!! I thought I couldn’t get it again after the first time but I’m one of the lucky ones lol I can laugh now. I had it at age 18, then again at 41. First time it lasted a month, second time like 2 weeks or so. I went through all the stuff you did. First time, I was living in the dorm and felt really weird. I realized something was wrong when I looked in the mirror as I was talking to my friend and saw only one side of my face was moving. So freakin scary. My doctor said that it can be brought on by stress and I was extremely stressed about finals. I became so self-conscious when talking, eating or laughing. But no one made fun of me thank goodness. I think I still have some lasting effects, especially after the second time. My smile is a little crooked but I’m just happy to be able to smile again. Sorry such a long comment, but sometimes I feel like it’s coming on again, I quickly massage my face and walk away from anything stressing me. And wrap my face in super cold weather. I never want to experience it again, 2 times is more than enough for me.

No worries for the comment, I appreciate it!!! That part even if the smile if altered it feels great to be able to smile again!!

Hi Miss P, Tampa, FL checkin in, been following you for some time now. 3 Things I do for self-care is 1. Attending therapy monthly, sometimes twice a month. 2. Gym, If I don't move my body for at least 30min it impacts my day dramatically. 3. Trying any and everything I've wanted to do since a child. Right now I am taking Latin dance classes. Nobody knows I do, solely for me. Next will be horse back riding.

I'm in Atlanta and we have a spot call JeJu Sauna Home of Wellbeing with hot tubs, steam rooms, massages and hip baths. It's a freedom of mind and body as you are naked in front of strangers but it is really a stress reliever. I like to read and I am going to get back to climbing stone mountain on a regular basis. It's hard to talk and climb but easy to pray and climb and the reward is immediate as you reach the top and look over the city.

Loved your video. I was also diagnosed with it on the right side of my face 2023. My face still not the same and has spasms. I still don't have any real feeling on that side of the face. It took almost 1 year before my face returned to normal. But I thank God for healing me so I could be a mother to my kids because I was looking really bad like more of a stroke. But I'm glad we are healing, and we are still beautiful despite what we had to face. My face would hurt to touch it. I wasn't able to see a neurologist due to can't afford it and no insurance. 2023-2024 has been a roller coaster but God kept me and I'm grateful for him no matter the situation.

Before I even get into the video I just want to say that both my mom and my middle sister experience Bells Palsy before. I’ve heard that the younger you are, the better chance you have of a full recovery. My mom got it a bit later in life so she recovered about 75% and from being around her I can attest to “Refresh” being a God send. My sister got it in her late 20/early 30s around the time she wash pregnant or just gave birth. She recovered about 95%. I only notice is veeeeeery slightly on her eye sometimes. I hope and pray you’re doing ok and taking care of your mental throughout this time of healing ❤

I've recently relocated back home, so getting to know the city, taking little side quests is something I do to recharge myself while getting acclimated to the city again. I've also made a vow to myself to see my favorite entertainers in concert, so that was fun this year! I feel for you Ms. P. I fell into the category of unexplained occurrences. This happened when I was 13, and I am now 25. I was on my Christmas break, my brother was visiting and everything was fine. I had fallen asleep, and everything before that was fine and normal. Once I woke up, I noticed that I kept spilling my drinks. I thought it was because I was not sitting up. I sat up and that didn't help, so I finally started feeling my face and noticed I had no feeling sensation on my left side of my face. It freaked me out, so I went to my mom's room and she immediately noticed that the left side of my face started to droop. Luckily for me, one of her sorority sisters had a stroke amd she has permanent Belle's Palsy, so she recognized it immediately. I thank God for my mom because she kept me calm throughout the entire process. We went to the ER that night, and I was admitted that night. It was assumed that I might have had a stroke in my sleep, but there was no evidence of that, so we didn't, and still don't have, an explanation on why that happened. I'm thankful that it just happened amd nothing else. I couldn't move the left side of my face for a couple weeks, so my 8th grade pictures look off, but other than that, I was overall okay. I spent my 2012-2013 new year in thw hospital, but overall, I was fine. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad you're doing well and feeling better. I've been rocking with you since about 2018 when I found your Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta reviews, which I still watch because they're hilarious. I have much love fpr you and your family. Stay strong, God has you like no one else will or can.

Hiiiii. I'm from NC, too. The "3" things I do for self care in my area are: 1. Stretching (at home) . I watch a 20min stretch vid by Emi Wong. 2. Going to the gym.... which I've honestly fell off from, for the past 4 - 6 months. 3. Walking a trail 🌻🌲🌻🌲

I was over here crying along with you 😢 Praying for complete healing of your body (and mind) 🙏🏽 ♥️ I’m born and raised in Maryland (Baltimore)… how ironic?! Self care for me involves exercising regularly (I’ve been going strong since January) and making sure that I take care of my outer appearance (hair, nails, toes)

So glad you shared your testimony! I'm from Byram, MS. I do the following to relax: get my weighted blanket and nap, crochet on a project (took this year off to focus on other things, but will pick it back up soon) and water therapy/aerobics (relaxes me to the MAX)

Answer to your questions: Currently an adult in nursing school (bachelors program) so self care is soooo important. Right now this semester self care consists of online shopping or store shopping. Spending time with my kids doing an activity like apple picking or mini golf. When we go on break I make sure to take a mini vacation to clear my head. I'm from Syracuse, New York.

I’m from Jersey, and for self care I like to take a 1 hour massage every fiscal quarter. In between that I don’t hesitate to take an SOT day (Sick of This) from work if needed to stay in bed, curl up, and read a book. Little things I due throughout the week to sustain me are soaking my feet in eucalyptus epsom salt, use the “Happier” app to meditate, or go for a walk outside when the weather permits. Sometimes I’ll even treat myself to an expensive meal…even if I cook it (I like to cook so it’s therapeutic). One day I might go to Wegmans and just pick up a whole lobster, crab, oysters, etc, and just prepare me a fancy dinner. I’ve also gotten VERY heavy into juicing due to my own health conditions. So I’ve turned it into a weekly thing and I look forward to it because I notice a drastic difference in how my body performs when I do and when I don’t drinking my green juice. Hope that helps give you some ideas!
