Grooming: Long haired Maltese -- So Satisfying!

I am sooo glad to actually see a groomer having a chance to groom a Maltese with coat and NOT clipping it all off! She looks just like my Mia, 5 pound 10 year old certified therapy dog. When we take our teams to the hospitals we always say the other dogs (goldens, labs etc) are the “real” dogs and Mia is the “fake” dog! Learning to care for the long coat actually isn’t that hard. You need to (1) train your dog to enjoy the process (2) be consistent about regular brush outs (it doesn’t take that long) (3) use the right products and tools (4) use your groomer as a resource. There’s nothing like the beauty of a dog with long natural coat. The time you spend with your dog grooming is very special for both of you.

Prollie, Baby is 2 1/2 years old. She’s never had a haircut outside of maintenance/grooming and again, I’m happy I found Cassie Putz!

Maltese do not have fur.. they have hair! When you said that I knew you were not a Shoe groomer. You did a nice cut though.
