I clean mine after every use, I have the round shallow cake tin with mine which is ideal to cook for one, fish steak fits in great and I can lift that out and just wash that non stick tin, then wash whole fryer couple of times a week. I have not used my traditional cooker over since last Christmas I love it! I find 14 minutes cooks most foods fine, 7 mins each side on 200C setting, and although there are automatic settings for certain foods, I never use them, the great thing is you can check and re start to see how food is going, hard to go wrong really! I've never used cooking spray with my air fryer. If you feel the need to use a spray, I suggest buying a spritzer and just putting your choice of oil in it to lightly spray whatever you're cooking. It doesn't have to be soaked, but helps seasonings stick to some things if you need that.

Regardless if your model of air fryer has the ability to pause midway through the cycle or not, it's always good to check your food at least half way through if you need to shake/turn it. Even for models that have a bottom burner too! Even cooking in an oven people check on the food that is cooking or baking.

I think they meant mimicking "deep fried" types of chicken like chicken fingers.. We use the double Ninja, and it's super fast compared with the normal electric oven. Cooking times should be taken with a grain of salt, and you have to check the food regulary. And use a thermometer like in this video. Pre-heating? Sometimes maybe, but most of the time we don't and still have great food.

sure! the area inside an air fryer is probably less than 20% of a conventional oven so pre heating is just a waste of energy... I had an expensive air fryer, I found that it was exactly the same as using a fan oven but with limited space to put the food. the point of oven or air fryer chips is that you don’t use (as much or any) oil and therefore are healthier. I actually find it funny that your “I went back to” was reverting to the unhealthy method😂
@honestchris7472 Жыл бұрын
@@LiterallyAllNamesAreTaken as i said, the chips were dry and not very nice at all, I did not buy the thing for health reasons, I bought it so that it would be cleaner than using a deep fat fryer and not have the trouble of changing and getting rid of the used oil. Nothing else I tried in the air-fryer was very good to eat either, if I would have been contented to eat more healthily without having a good taste from the food, I would have been happy but everything tasted bland in comparison and I like my meals to be tasty. I have a double oven as part of my main oven and that is a bit larger than an air-fryer and probably costs a similar about of money to use, for chips, I use a deep fat fryer again and they taste far better than those from an air-fryer, the makers say that you only need a spoon full of oil but that is a lie because all you get is baked dry chips, not proper chips. If you make sure that a deep fat fryer has reached a very hot temperature, the hot oil quickly forms a skin on the chips and they don`t get at all oily but they still have the real chip quality.

I know you asked this a year ago and have probably made your choice but, just in case: As mentioned the Ninja dual basket but I have the Ninja Flexidrawer 10.4 litre airfryer where I can use the whole as one huge basket or put in dividers and use one or both sides. Definitely you would get a large family meal in there. It bakes, roasts, reheats, dehydrates, proves dough and there is even a maxi crisp option and none of those options need preheating. You can ook one thing on one side and something else on the other side and set it to finish cooking both sides at the same time. A time and money saver in my opinion. No, I'm not afilliated to Ninja in any way, I just love the machine!

@@lunasmum6869 I have actually bought one already. It is decent but it seems like the ninja is far better. It is also far more expensive

So add oil even when the manufacturer says you don't have to on every type of food?

KZbin everything and see how it's made . I did a 4lb meatloaf in 35 min in my airfryer and it turned out perfect.

If everyone is we better prep for an energy situation cuz constant powered air fryers take a bit of energy. …I go with convection oven…don’t run it 24/7 though……not safe to leave an oven on for 6 months as this mentioned….

The tray that came with my Rotisserie type fryer was round edged and too shallow to collect chicken fat so I made one out of stainless steel which has greater depth and goes to all corners. a small chicken cooked well at 200 c for 20 minutes then 160 c for 95 minutes.

I can’t get past the chemical smell in my new air fryer. I’ve had it for about a year and used it twice . It smells so strong and the food tastes like the smell

You forget to mention that yes whilst you are cooking from raw that things like chicken wings and nuggets are already cooked and only require warming.

Don't use a spray bottle! The propellants can damage the non-stick coating.

I pretty much only make frozen food in my air fryer. If I'm doing anything more than just dumping some garbage in there then I may as well just cook it the normal way.

It’s so much faster for pretty much anything. My fav is eggplant (cut in half) for baba ganoush! Hard boiled eggs are great in there and saves boiling a pot of water. Easy peasy.

Hi, l use my air fryer every night, I love mine, mine is a Cosori, l use olive oil or coconut oil for it,l have 2 recipe books for mine, l wouldn't choose a different air fryer, l have cheat sheet 2 of them, l go by what the recipe says, or l choose my own, that l have tried, and they work out, l did a bunch tests with my air fryer

I've had 2 different brands. I use one 6 days a week and I'm not using it just for tater tots. I just use online recipes and if they work out I save them to favorites in the browser Chicken wings: lemon pepper, garlic salt, parsley. 12 min - 360, flip, 12 min -360. If you want extra crispy, up to 6 min - 400. Done. Never tried coconut oil.

Lay it down on the back side so you can see the inside. Then just wipe clean with your favorite cleaner.
