On my Chevy K30, I mounted the winch behind the front bumper with a winch plate from harbor freight. The cable exits the bumper where the front license plate is. I have a video on my channel if you want to check it out.

Funny thing I have a 78 Ford f250 custom cab, a 2005 cts V with the 6 speed manual upgraded to handle 1300lbft and a 81 Blazer plus a 78 scout II with positraction front and rear all that needs to be recombined having a LS6 with manual laying around for projects let me know what we can work a collabe on.

I recommend drawing up a design for a winch bumper you like and have it cut and welded out of aluminum. No need to paint and keeps the weight down.

@@barnyardbuildz I have a steel bumper from Buckstop on a 2010 Dodge 2500. They do offer aluminum. I run an aluminum Genright bumper on a 2000 TJ with a 15,000 Warn winch. I'm not sure of the winch plate thickness on the Buckstop bumpers but I know others offer aluminum too. I think it is a matter of supporting the winch plate properly. Love your build. It looks cool as hell.

6061 or 7075 Aluminum, half the weight and same strength as steel of same thickness. Food for thought. Also, you could Line-X it to help against corrosion if you get into salt or sodium chloride

How about interior noise? Ive been thinking about doing something simular for awhile and ive heard some people have issues getting the interior noise to a tolerable level especially long distance towing.

@@grahamgeiger3206 it’s no worse than a 2000 7.3 F350. These truck weren’t quite new. I have added 2 layers of killmat on the firewall and lined the doors 1 layer on the floor I will be doing a 2nd once I get the seats I want

Before I got around to swapping the Chevy got stolen off the farm. So trust me many more of us plan than do ... But you did it.. BIG UP
