The first half of this course, taught by Prof. Yaffe, is available on the MITx platform as 7.05x Biochemistry: Biomolecules, Methods, and Mechanisms. The videos below are from the second half of the course with Prof. Vander Heiden, which focuses on metabolism. The exception is Lecture 12, which is in the first half of the course and was taught by Prof. Vander Heiden. See ocw.mit.edu/7-05S20 for more information.

Can you please give these professors a white board? I feel like a lot of the energy used to violently strike the chalkboard, (and this is before and after the arduous task of erasing such an embattled terrain) would be better spent on streamlining the professor’s insight into the source material... also penmanship. Is it like a perception thing?

@@Chris-ql1pd Imagine saying that to a math prof. They love their chalkboards more than they love their spouse.

Hello Sir,I want to know whether the molar ratio of sugar links can be calculated through methylation analysis. If so, how to calculate it?

Learning biology & chemistry in high school would be more helpful to the student than learning trig and pre-calc in high school.

Although I think biology and chemistry are awesome trig and precalc are way more important for what most people are gonna study in college. They are fundamental to calculus which is used is integral to any STEM field and business.

i have a question.. one of my friends thinks that of the first part is that the catabolism of polymers is a way to break the polymers from lactose, fructose, starch etal and obtain glucose. Is glucose a subproduct of the generation of energy or its presence in blood indicates that we actually have energy? So glucose seems like a heavy molecule do blood tests let these heavy molecules sink and test with an indicator or mass weighing or do they test by giving rich aldehydes and measure their reaction?
