Gabriel Novak Undoubtedly, and the same goes for the acoustic of Francis Forever. Less raw and angsty than the original, but there’s a sense of emotional vulnerability that comes through when it’s just Mitski and her acoustic guitar (not playing for an audience).

Everything in my life was bad. I used to sleep on the floor in the living room and listen to my family constantly yell at each other. I used to have 141 missed hours in school and never leave my room and talk to friends. I used to feel so empty and I was in so much pain, i daydreamed about ending my life alone in my room every day. But now I’m doing better which I’m grateful for. I still don’t have a social life and still feel sad at times, but I moved to a different city and I got accepted to my dream school and let go of everything that caused me pain. I’m tearing up right now because this song used to play in my headphones every morning when I was at my worst. So whoever is reading my comment, i hope you’re doing okay and if not, I’m sending u so much love and I wish you can find your peace soon.

i don't even know where to start; i found this video in my recommended at random while in a call with my boyfriend. i absolutely love this song and recently found it about a few weeks ago. i don't know what it truly is about the lyrics, they've been hitting every spot ever since i discovered this song. anyways, i had been super hyper all night and playing video games and all of a sudden i play this video because i enjoy the song and i've never heard this version and it's beautiful. i immediately start sobbing to my boyfriend about how sad this song is and how beautiful mitski is and how she doesn't deserve the pain she has felt; i cried and cried, feeling so sorry. i know what this song feels like and it hurts, it really does. well, my boyfriend was quite confused but did comfort me the entire time while being very very confused on why i felt so empathetic towards a random woman.. but mitski is truly no random woman.

She was just Mitski, a songwriter who was up at 4am. It was really sweet to watch, because there weren’t any special effects or auto tune or anything. It was just a crappy camera, her guitar, and pure voice :)

I feel like this song resonated an experience i went through long ago. I dated this youtuber for 10 months. He’s been growing a lot since then and reached 1 mil subs. We started dating originally thinking it wasn’t something serious. Only for him to love bomb me constantly, buying me expensive things, taking me to restaurants and telling me romantic trips he would take me in his head. And I fell. Feeling like i had to prove to myself i could trust and love again. And he knew that. That’s why he did it. Then suddenly i discovered along the way, his “ex” gf still lived at his house and although i was in deep denial (mitski’s what do you do w a loving a feeling if the loving feeling makes u all alone) - it was true. He was cheating on me the whole time. And he used me as a heavy rebound to get back at his ex (who he is still dating to this day) for cheating on him. I was used. I was told i was some ‘asian mistress’ fantasy of his. I was first told i something like a ‘vacation’ for him. I should have realize that as my red flag. If i was truly respected and loved, i should have been a home. This song made me realized after his friends (who actually left him because they realized he was extremely narcissistic, manipulative and toxic) told me he really did cheat on me those 10 months. It broke my heart to hear to confirm my suspicions long ago. But i’ll wear my white button down. And i will love again. And i will love the littler things.
