She has also talked about how all of her songs involving love are actually about her career and how its like a toxic relationship
@RicoandPrimo9 ай бұрын
That makes total sense. Off camera we did talk about how she has a love hate relationship with music currently. We concluded that she love the feeling and free expression music gives her, but over time when dealing with contracts and roll outs, it can take all the organic fun out of it. She steps away from music and finds a different creative outlet but always find herself coming back to her roots

a lot of people dont get lonesome love as its very blunt with its lryics. The line "nobody fucks me like me" is her knowing that shes basically fucked herself over for falling for this man who only wants one thing from her as seen with her paying for the taxi to leave. as much as she tries to appear like she doesn't need him every time they meet she gives in because he just knows how to "butter her up". while she is getting love its the type of love that leaves her unfulfilled and lonely so yeah it is basically a song about falling for a one night stand
@RicoandPrimo9 ай бұрын
yooo that makes a lot of sense. The "nobody fucks me like me" threw us for a loop but that totally fits the the larger picture of the song.

Happy y’all enjoyed this one! I think you’d really like her prior two albums to this (Puberty 2 and Bury Me At Makeout Creek). Very unique, more alt rock/punky but still a lot of variety and top notch relatable songwriting as always. Your Best American Girl (on Puberty 2) is arguably her best (and it’s what put her on the map). Crazy she wrote all these in her early 20s just out of college!

i see me and my husband as a kind of commentary, not something literal! even jf it were literal, you could tell it wasnt a totally healthy relationship. she says "so i bet all ive got on that furrowed brow, and me and my husband we are doing better". sounds like the vlassic "i am nothing without my husband who treats me like crap" trope. you can hear how desperate she is to say "we are doing better, its always been just him and me together"!!
@naomidoesplay29018 ай бұрын
Me and my husband is about being in a relationship where even though you live a nice life you still feel unhappy and alone and even throughout all that you stay with yours husband and Pink in the night is just about being very infatuated with a person to the point your just crumbling away but in a good way

Half are about a break up. Others are about music. So "Me & My Husband" isn't about a man. It's a personification of Music. It's a writing style she uses a lot in her writing

29:04 i think pink in the night is having this love and fascination for someone. “I could stare at your back all day” they cant keep their eyes off it’s too precious to not look at. “I know i kissed you before but, i didn’t do it right, can i try again” they did it right and it felt right but this is an excuse to once again kiss them and them insisting in one last touch.
@Mel_s1mp2 ай бұрын
Honestly I feel like “Lonesome Love” talks about a past relationship that didn’t really have a closure so the part that says “I call you to see you again so I can win and this can finally end” it’s like her wanting to meet this person up to show how well she’s doing without him that’s why she spends time doing her makeup and dressing up feeling confident about meeting this past lover again after a long time from the break up but her confidence disappearing when they finally meet so she loses instead of winning like she previously said she wanted to, and then the “cause nobody butters me up like you, and nobody f*cks me like me” it’s her feeling like she fucked up by meeting him up again because he’s “buttering her up” and then I feel like the “in the morning in the taxi I’m so very paying for” I guess it’s just her having maybe spent the night with him although she planned not to at the start, before meeting him, and ending up leaving in the taxi that she paid because he probably didn’t want to pay it for her and she notices how lonely she’s actually and maybe how she wants a stable relationship or something

when it said nobody f's me like me, i think it was that nobody can put her in a bad situation like she can. she feels that she is the reason she is in a bad situation with a person. she feels like she needs to prove something to someone she's trying to love.

It's kinda normal to assume that people write about their own lives because that's kinda become the standard. She's talked about how this album was a reaction to that expectation for artists to put their own lives on display for people to consume, and so a number of tracks are fiction; she's telling you a story.
