MITSUBISHI Pajero Fourth generation (V80) 2006-
The fourth generation debuted at the Paris Motor Show on 30 September 2006. Revised interior and exterior styling were accompanied by dual-stage SRS front airbags as well as new side-impact and curtain airbags. The Super-Select 4WD II system was retained, complemented by an improved Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC) system and electronic brakeforce distribution - as well as skid plates, heavy weight components and 8.7 inches (220 mm) of ground clearance.
The engines were upgraded with the 3.2 L diesel gaining Common Rail technology, a DPF for cleaner emissions and producing 125 kW (167 hp/170 PS) and the 3.8 L V6 gaining MIVEC variable valve timing to boost power to 205 kW (274 hp/280 PS). Both engines meet new Euro IV emissions standards. The 3.0 L V6 is retained for the Japanese and GCC markets.
From 2009, the 3.0L V6 engine was dropped in the GCC markets, and was replaced by a 3.5L V6 engine, rated for 141 kW (189 hp/192 ps) and 306 Nm torque. Further revisions to the 3.2L Turbo Diesel in the 2011 model year saw the power and torque increased to 147 kW/197 hp/200 PS and 441Nm respectively. Engine meet new Euro V emissions standards. The 3.8L petrol engine remained at 184 kW and 329Nm (using 95RON fuel). There is also a panelled Van version available in markets where such a model can be registered at a lower tax rate.
For the 2010 model year the Pajero gained a Rockford acoustic sound system and two interior color options, black and beige, in some markets.
For 2012, the Pajero model has been minimally restyled and given an improved monocoque body and suspension.
For the 2015 model year Pajero received an updated front fascia with a revised grille, LED daytime running lights and a new spare tire cover. The interior was revised to include metallic trim, piano black accents for the VR II, wood grain trim for the Exceed and Super Exceed and additional sound deadening material. The engines will be carried over and they will include the 3.0-liter 6G72 V6, the 3.5-liter 6G74 V6, the 3.8-liter 6G75 V6, the 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel 4M40, and the 3.2-liter 4M41 common rail four-cylinder turbo diesel.

Ronaldo, good afternoon. My Pajero sport 2004, engine 4M40 2.8, has overheated during long or climb trajectories. Several 4x4 forums has been reported the same mechanical failure. Engine was totally retified, the original head engine was used,a new water pump was acooplished, cooling was tottaly clean, radiator checked and its use only radiator liquid on correct ratio. I would like to know if Mitsubishi did, in any time during last two decades, any recall relative to overheating problems to Pajero sport. I need to know if problems related to an undermentioned cooling able to mantain engine in ideal temperature conditions. I strongly suggest that a specialized engineer make a search in Braziliam Google with key word: aquecimento em Pajero Sport (overhealting in Pajero sport). Its incredible how many people have been related the same problem. I need to understand by a Mitsubishi engineer if was discovered the origem of this problem, because mechanics and Pajero users inform several unexplicable reasons. I had contacted MIT at Australia (other country where there are many relates for this overhealt problems). I will thanks so much if a senior Japanese engineer could me answer this insoluble question.

Diante o exposto, entro em contato para saber se em algum momento nessas últimas duas décadas a Mitsubishi realizou algum recall ou expediu algum boletim técnico que fosse capaz de elucidar ou gerar um discussão de caráter mais técnico, de quais seriam as questões que levam a esse aumento de temperatura do motor. Muitos chegam a alegar, sem argumentos plausíveis, que a pajero sport motorizadas com os motores 4m40 e 4D56 foram produzidos para operar em climas mais amenos, como o Japonês. O motivo do meu contato é tão somente buscar uma elucidação junto a uma equipe mais profissional e que conheça os histórico desses motores, de preferência um engenheiro mais sênior que possa ter acompanhado essa situação na década de 2000. O carro está totalmente fora da garantia, afinal esse carro tem quase duas décadas de existência. Por esse motivo o contato é tentar elucidar, de forma mais técnica, uma discussão que permanece insolúvel em fóruns de pajero no Brasil e até mesmo na Austrália.
