Been waiting for this comparison, best I’ve seen Kevin hit in a hot minute. One thing that understandably doesn’t get talked about in the 223, is that stock Modus 115 shaft. I game the 223 and just couldn’t get along with the 115 profile so I put a set of 120’s in and wow, night and day diff. Impressive session today Mr Kraft!

Interesting. I hit the stock 115 in the 243 really well, and never got along with the 120. I much prefer the more linear EI profile of the 105 and 115. I can just time them better for some reason.

@@BLKMeSa My last few sets have had KBS tours or LZ’s and I could be wrong, but the Modus120’s feel similar. I couldn’t get the same predictable baby draw with the 115’s, they just wanted to go straight for me.?

@@CA-sl2xw Yes, could just be a timing thing. I believe the LZ and Modus 120 have softer mid-sections compared to the 105 and 115 which are more linear from handle to tip. Whatever works for you, go with it! I'm looking to move into the Modus 115s this season coming from the 105s which I turn over way too much. I think they're too light and a bit soft for my transition.

Its funny how the golf club retailers always say theres an improvement between the new model and the previous model but the non endorsed / smaller reviewers ALWAYS say that there is not much improvement from last years model vs this years model and tell you to buy the previous model.

This is a great review with Kevin at the top of his Craft! Krapht, Krafpht, whatever. So, the good part is the sound is very noticeably just like buttah, with both. I tried the 223 with a 115 gram shaft that was custom/stock for the 223. Didn't like it. The Nippon 120 stiff is obviously the best fit here. The 223 can probably be found for a nice discount. Definitely worth considering. Buying new with money as no object, the 243 is definitely Smokin'!

THIS is what I've been waiting for! I own the 223's and was interested in the 243's and I've always felt the 223's were always too low spin for me.

@@OddlyAmusing1 True. I'm done guessing on used clubs. I finally found my specs and got them for the 243s. They really are magical. My iron tinkering days are over. Driver is different because the new Titleist line is coming, lol.

I’d say the T-100 is a better comparison.

Basically is the same. Irons/Drivers tech can change once every +6 years or so. But companies must make money so people always find an excuse that the new one is better etc...

Note: Higher bounce on the 243 vs the 223. The 223s play like blades (221) as far as bounce goes.

Interesting comparo….for the graphics you put on the screen with the side by sides, were those the same irons (7 iron?). They looked dramatically different in size (the 243 looked bigger), and the lofts looked different, so that’s odd since you stated the 243 was smaller than the 223…

Agreed. Mizuno always seems to screw up which one sets they’ll offer LH. Makes no sense to do the 245 and 241 left handed. Can’t imagine sales are great on true blades. On the other hand, a 245/243 combo set would be awesome. Maybe 2nd swing can talk them into adding these to the lefty lineup!

The fact they are offering MMTs as a stock option is probably gonna cause me to go back to Mizuno from Titleist.

i went and hit the 245s and the 243s. For whatever reason i hit the 243's so much more consistent. I also had 2 really long flyers with the 245s. The 243's went a bit shorter than 245s but they felt better and stopped almost instantly on the green with a 7 iron and felt as forgiving as any other club. My only hesitation on buying them is that I'm a mid 80's handicap that swings a 7 iron in the mid 80's mph, and hits the 7 iron in the mid 150's. I love these clubs after one round in a hitting bay but should i be buying them?

Exactly how my fitting went with the 223 2 years ago. Hit the 223 and 225 and found the 223 was easier for me to hit.

7iron mid 150s with a 32degree iron isn’t bad at all
