Crazy how young 19 year Kobe aka Frobe was an all star starter that year and he was coming off the bench.
@melvinhhcp3615
@melvinhhcp3615 3 жыл бұрын
@TheRealist 811 Well to be fair, he was playing behind Eddie Jones, who was an All-Star himself. In the beginning, it didn't make sense to tell an All-Star to a back seat to an 18-19 year old kid fresh out of high school. However, to your point, I probably would've sat Rick Fox in favor of Kobe, instead of Eddie Jones.

@troybutcher6451
@troybutcher6451 2 жыл бұрын
@@melvinhhcp3615 That's bc Del Harris was an old school coach that didn't want to bench a AllStar veteran.. For a teenager straight out of high school and would pull Kobe for being to flamboyant too! Lakers management would literally come down and tell Harris to put Kobe back in the game! If it was just based on talent alone.. Kobe would've been starting from Day 1! He was playing and beating NBA Players while he was still in High School. He broke all Wilt Chamberlains scoring records in High school as well. HE was the #1 ranked High School Player in the country.. NTM 1rst little man/guard to ever make the leap from High School into the NBA!🤯 Eddie Jones got abuse by Jordan on a regular basis.. While when Kobe was on Jordan he forced alot of missed shots.. This game alone Kobe forced 7 - 8 of Jordans missed shots! And Jordan completely obliterated Eddie Jones while on him! Oh.. And Jones was like 1-13 or something awful in this game as well!👀 Kobe Bean Bryant should've been the starter Day 1 @ SG, but like you and I said.. Del Harris wasn't having none of that! I was so happy when the Lakers fired him and Phil Jackson knew exactly where Kobe Bryant belonged.. In the starting lineup! Kobe won a Championship in his 2nd season as a starter in this league.. And went on to win 2 more directly after that! So in Kobes first 4 seasons as a starter he had 3 Championships!🤯
