Velma hated the rich, Velma hated popular girls, and of course when she becomes rich/popular she loves it. Though when Victoria ran over her toy car that Velma drove into traffic she gave Velma the money to replace it. Velma went out of her way to drive over another kids toy AC. Velma also wanted everyone to hate the new kid just because they "outsmarted" her, and Velma became popular for what a day?

Because Shaggy and Scooby already have a great dynamic and their both cowards with Scrappy being the one who wants to fight the monster. It's to bad the rest of the gang weren't there, because Imagine daphne getting attacked and scrappy trying to save her, or velma looses her glasses and Scrappy finds them for her. But with scooby, scooby had to constantly pull scrappy away from the monster, which made scrappy feel like a burden.

I never had an issue with Scrappy as a kid, I tire of the Scrappy hate too. I think the media exaggerated the hate of the character too. I also hate the trope of making a so-called "hated by fans" character into a villain. (The reboot of DuckTales did that to Doofus Drake too, and I don't know anyone who hated him. So i think he's another artificially disliked character.) It'd be like pretending everyone hates Jimmy Olson and making him a villain in the next Superman reboot. It just seems stupid to me.

I'm one of the folks old enough to remember the pre-Scrappy days and when they introduced Scrappy. Scrappy was a "hit" with Hanna Barberra's target - 4-year-old kids who would rather be watching SMURFS. Scooby was originally targeted at older kids (which is why the Gang are vaguely teenagers - I always thought they were 20 because they never had school or anything - and were completely disconnected from their parents), though Scooby and Shaggy were funny enough that kids of all ages enjoyed the show. Scrappy came in because H/B were specifically dumbing down the show to appeal to the under-6 crowd in an effort to pump new life into a franchise that had really run it's full course. I was NOT under six at the time and the constant STUPIDITY of Scrappy was annoying. Now, when Scooby and Shaggy did some bit, half the bit was keeping Scrappy from breaking character and ruining the bit - which ruined the bit (for everyone over the age of five). Scooby, despite the main character being a dog that could talk, was actually a pretty GROUNDED show. The "ghosts" used realistic technology and special effects to fake their hauntings. Scrappy was supposed to be a Great Dane puppy. But, unlike Scooby (or his other relatives) Scrappy could talk without sounding like a dog (and wouldn't shut up), walked upright ALL THE TIME, and was strong enough to lift cars. He added an element of un-reality to the show that really broke formula. He really messed up the dynamic of the team. You can see this because a year after they introduced Scrappy to the team, Fred and Daphne just disappeared from the show. To be fair, they stuck with Scrappy and ditched Fred and Daphne because Scrappy was testing well with their new target audience - little kids WERE watching the show, and he would become the new "normal" for four or five years. But for a lot of the old-school fans - or the ones who would become fans in the late 80s when OG Scooby series began appearing in syndication time slots before He-man or Transformers - Scrappy was generally seen as a "jump the shark" introduction that lost the magic of what made Scooby work. And that is why so much of the Scooby fanbase really don't like Scrappy much - he's an extra puzzle piece that doesn't fit - shoehorned in to try and make Scooby appeal to pre-schoolers.

Top ten worst things about velma season 2. Honorable mention goes out to how at the end of the first season they had everyone simp for velma and everyone basically got over her in the first episode. So Velma and Daphne can be "Soul Mates." 1. Velma still relies on plot convenience and everyone else to do the grunt work, so she can take the credit. 2. Velma basically can be narcissistic as possible and everyone else will eventually support her. 3. The 2 detectives who kept going on about how terrible they are at their jobs. Who gave their prime suspect in season 1 the ability to prove their own innocence, ending up convicting an innocent man. Shooting the innocent man in the legs and publicly embarrassing them. Who decided to campaign for sheriff before the sheriff was found dead, not even a search party for the sheriff. They got mad that people didn't elect them for Sheriff. 4. Daphne and Velma being Soul mates. Because they really want us to support a very toxic relationship and it's really dark fanfiction to have an established character basically simp for your self insert character. 5. They keep referencing the original shaggy as a drug user. 6. The references are so vague family guy and SouthPark are facepalming. 7.Norville lost his empathy for one episode and was able to speak without a filter, lasted one episode and only served for him to insult his dad and the mailman. NO ONE ELSE. 8. They want us to hate characters that we like more then the main character. 9. IT TOOOK 7 EPISODES for the plot to actually get going. 7 episodes to establish that oh wow the killer is targeting people involved with project scooby. 10: They gave scrappy the greatest redemption ark of all time for the fans, but they brought Velma back for a Halloween special. We appreciate what scrappy was trying to do for us this whole time.

"Why would she choose to portray herself this way"? I think this is who Mindy wants to be. It's a sociopathic fantasy. Mindy isn't evil - it's just that the humanity of her brain never grew. She is, to use an analogy, without a soul. She just has the appearance of a person, but if you could see inside, it would just be endless void. This is why she sucks the fun out of everything. She doesn't mean to. It's just that the abyss can't be completely contained while she lives, and we can only hope the tear in the fabric of reality will seal upon her death - if beings like her are capable of such a thing.
@Adamguy2003
@Adamguy2003 8 ай бұрын
It stemmed from her childhood and teen years. See, Mindy was born to wealthy parents, meaning as a kid she was almost certainly a spoiled brat who was constantly doted on and given everything she wanted. Then, along came high school. The rotten attitude Mindy developed as a result of being so spoiled for so long meant that she had few if any friends, and that few if any of the boys she liked were even remotely interested in her. Those were probably the first times she ever heard the forbidden word "No" in her entire pampered life, so she didn't take it well. She decided that the problem wasn't with her; It MUST be with everyone else, especially boys/ men! Bitterness and hate began to take root, and things went from there.

I've seen several people recently (recently as in the past few years) who came out to defend Scrappy, stating he was mis-blamed because of the circumstances surrounding him. Basically, he saved the show by injecting life into it with his introduction, but was shoved center stage afterwards as a main star to the point it frustrated people. Growing up, I never had a vendetta against Scrappy, but I know my dad and the general public did, so I thought I was supposed to as well (don't form opinions that way). I was born in the mid 90s, I never really had any connection to Scrappy Doo aside from 1 VHS tape of Ghoul School I haven't seen in ages. From what I saw of Scrappy prior to him being meme'd to death as the franchise's worst mistake, he's really... really not that bad. He's hyper, optimistic, and headstrong, which can easily get him in trouble, but he also works as a foil to Scooby and Shaggy. Where Scooby and Shaggy are too quick to run, Scrappy is too quick to fight, and everyone else can work as a balance between the 2. It all depends on how you go about him. Kind of a hot take, but I don't know where to take this one, so I'll leave it here. Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated is great, but here's something I pondered. Nova kinda just shows up with little explanation (not that it needs explained but still) and exists as someone that sometimes drops exposition after the coma happens. If instead of Nova, a dog with no connection to the gang that showed up randomly, was instead Scooby's nephew that's known for hyperactivity and running head-first into danger, it could have had more impact, as his tendency to try helping the gang despite his method of doing so being dangerous can easily be played for drama if he gets seriously hurt. Keep in mind, this is both a relative of the title character, and a hyperactive little kid that probably doesn't get the danger. I don't know, I feel like they're wasting opportunities by refusing to let go of the past and understand why these things happened. I'd comment on the actual Velma show itself, but I refuse to watch it on principle that hate watching will increase the odds they make another season, and I don't hate watch, I have enough to be mad about as it is.

The Scrappy hate really got ridiculous, I mean the one of jokes can be funny but acting like Scooby hasn't got way worse side characters from the same era is just ridiculous. The whole "2nd season" was really the second half of the first season. You see most people just watched the first episode and jumped off after that. Warner Brothers worded it in a way in the news to make people think it was gaining more views than it actually was. After people panned it, they made the other part of the season to be season 2, and used the specific worded article as well as hate watching to manipulate fans into thinking that it was them who were at fault for it happening. It shows that Warner Bros is far more evil than we all already knew they were

Yeah I was never one to hate on Scrappy. And even for those who didn't like his character does any of them even liked how he was made the villain in cases like this? To be made evil cause "ha ha no one loves Scrappy". Say what you will Scrappy loves his uncle Scooby and considered him a role model. Scrappy never acted like he was better than anyone else, he just liked they idea of fighting monsters and ghosts with his hero. Which says a lot about this version of Velma who is all about herself and how she is better than all of them. If Scrappy was ever characterized like this Velma was in his original debut I could see it... but I just don't.

Aaaaaiiiiii kinda think Warner knew that this wouldn't be taken very well given the (undeserved) hate the LAST Scooby series got (the one after Mystery Inc) and the Scoob movie tanking. This feels more along the lines that Mindy n co more than likely pushed their star power (and possibly provided them with some of the money for this. She's not hurting for cash even if she's not doing a lot right now) so all of this spells vanity to me, in more ways than one. Having said that, with the news that there is a Halloween special coming out I have a feeling that's going to be where Velma is brought back to life. The whole inclusion of the super natural is one thing since Scooby has done that in situations before where we didn't expect but granted, when that DID happen it was done so so so so so much better (Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost anyone?) but I would not at all be surprised that at the end of the Halloween special, someone else is killed to 'replace' Velma and she somehow regains a new body because her being dead and talking to the crew is stupid but also feels like another dig at some of the kid mystery shows HB had running, SPECIFICALLY the Funky Phantom. Either way, it's a skip.

Sure maybe he can be a bit of a liability what with breaking cover to attack the monster of the week, which of course ends up overpowering him because he’s just a puppy. I saw that as him being the only one of the Doo clan that’s bought their hype, since it’s a running joke that all of them are cowards but love bragging about how brave they are, so most likely Scooby outright lied about fighting the monsters he encountered and Scrappy bought it.
