IM ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE TO TAKE 'MAUDE' THE MOREDOOR MK2 ESCORT FOR SOME LEGAL DRIFTING BUT IV BEEN PLAGUED WITH OIL LEAK ISSUES AND RECENTLY HER GEARBOX HAS STARTED WHINING!
IV GOT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE I FIT THE REPLACEMENT GEARBOX TO SO I THOUGHT ID CHANGE A COUPLE OF SEALS TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE OIL LEAKS.
AND AFTER TRYING 2 DIFFERENT BRAND ROCKER COVER GASKETS THE COVER IS STILL LEAKING SO IV BOUGHT A METAL ROCKER COVER FROM A SILVERTOP ZETEC. IM HOPING THIS WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE.
LOADS MORE LITTLE JOBS TO DO OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS AS WELL AS THE GEARBOX SWAP AND ILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED WITH THE PROGRESS!
MY NEXT VIDEO WILL BE AN UPDATE ON MY ST170 MK1 ESCORT PROJECT AND THIS WILL BE UPLOADED NEXT WEEK.

I thought the rubber O rings were connected to a crush tube washer thing . I can send you a pic of them when I'm in my shed again .. maybe later this evening when the weather cools a bit... It's cracked 47.5° c so far , Adelaide ain't meant to get that hot 🔥

Yes I believe the original ford silvertop bolts are the same style as the st170 ones (shown at the end of this vid) but the tube washer thing must be narrower on a silvertop bolt because the st170 ones wouldnt fit throught the bolt holes in the rocker cover. . . . . Enjoy the weather in Aus! Its around 2°C here 2day! :)

Do you have to take the clutch cover off to change the release bearing guide sleeve oil seal ? Or can you do with the gearbox in place and the engine out ?

Im fitting a type 9 to my xflow in an auto shell using the auto mount. However i can't get the bolts to line up without forcing the box .... is this a common problem

On Maude it does take a bit of 'forcing'. Its not ideal. If its that far out is there space to drill more holes in the mount so that it will all line up???
