Beautiful MK3. Came looking for inspiration for my own and I certainly found it! And another thing, Its such a minor detail but the TRD badge just looks so right on there too. Much love from across the Atlantic. 👍

I have one of those TRD emblems on my Supra too, my Supra is every bit as good looking as that one, except I just have the stock turbo, plus I have the Targa top and NO cracks on the dash.

I've seen many MK3 SUPRAS in excellent condition in the last few to several years. Of course others need full restoration. Supras are getting very expensive. Even ones needing full restoration can easily sale between $2K-$3K not running. Specially in states like Az., no rust, no holes. (I've also seen quite a bit of MK2 in the last several years as well)

Do you know the wheels and tires (with sizes and offsets) he's running? Id like that same look for my mk3
The strongest world record MK3 SUPRA with the original 7MGTE and R154(fully supped up) is 1,036HP to the wheels. It can easily be upgraded to 1,300HP(with bigger Turbo) to the wheels as well. Of course at that point you may want to upgrade the tranny and rear diff. 😎💪👍👍✌

Wrong! HKS had a drag mk3 making 1400whp in late 90s
@abramlucas10866 жыл бұрын
Genesis Harrigan Yes but is it with the 7MGTE that's what's most impressive not a 1JZGTE or 2JZGTE.....a 7MGTE putting out 1300HP to the wheels is extremely impressive, of course a 1J and 2J can do that, 7M to that as well is OUTSTANDING!!!!! LOL So yes for a 7M that is a/the world record..... unless it's a 7M doing that, then I'm right. I know of other MK3 Supras doing 1400Hp and more too but it's usually with the 1J and specially with the 2J. So for a MK3 Supra equipped with it's original engine the 7MGTE to do 1300HP, is the world record, sorry your wrong.....
@ChrisDonohue916 жыл бұрын
hks did it with a 7m, there are several 7m dragsters making more than 1000...
@factswithjj2024 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisDonohue91 did they surpass the 1300hp mark with the 7MGTE however? Most MKIII Supras that do have the 1JZGTE or the 2JZGTE not the 7MGTE. At the time this statement was made 1300HP was the world record for a 7MGTE. FACT 100%. Now it's been some years so it might have broken, which is great!! Still 1300HP to the wheels with 80's 7MGTE technology is very impressive.

Some will disagree, however many/most will agree $5.5K is dirt cheap for an Outstanding condition Supra, for a Supra and or Supras. Considering MK3 I've witnessed/seen sale from $10K-$20K+(in outstanding condition, original). Now prices are going much higher yet. When fully built or fully supped up, even more money/sale price. Like I said before world record is from $70K-$100K for a MK3 SUPRA. Supras are not cheap cars any longer. 😎💪👍👍✌. Think about it's a Japanese Super Car, it's going to be expensive sooner or later.....bet on sooner rather than later.....

If it's all stock.. shims for the wastegate or a boost controller and shim the oil pump. But it's an old car so first make sure the car is running perfect, that means test the fuel pressure, injectors, coils, ground points and wiring (even if the wiring shows its fine with a multimeter it doesn't mean that the signal will go though), check for the smallest of intake leaks as i found it was very sensitive to the smallest of intake leaks, clean the MAF, fully test the alternator, cheap autolite copper spark plugs and gap them to 0.5 (trust me, never heard a misfire and was buttery smooth up to and past 7K rpms), make sure the knock sensor is working, drop in a factory replacement K&N air filter (the large open air versions suck in hot air from your engine bay and will make it run like shit in traffic and in general IMO because of that), also they come with a lot of oil and you will have to clean your MAF later on again. At least torque down the head bolts as they tend to walk out, but you should really just get head studs and the whole metal head gasket thing is way overkill and the composite stock replacement from the dealer is known to be good for tons of power. Also, the older engine mounts (86.5-88) are solid chunks of rubber and make the shifts feel much nicer and overall engine feel. The stock clutch might hold, but don't expect it to last too long. If it's auto, i heard you can do small mods and they hold tons of power.. the one on the show Pinks held 650HP just fine lol. unless i'm remembering that completely wrong lolol I had a 88 turbo and that's all i did to it plus replacing intake piping and a resonator delete which made it sound incredibly nice, also the stock intercooler will get heat soaked easy. My buddys modded 350Z with 320hp to the wheel according to a random dyno was slower. But that was peak HP and the 7M has a very wide powerband so I'm guessing the Supra was around just over 300hp but making that all the time while his 350Z was probably only making the 310hp for just a moment idk. I backed off the boost because i was hitting fuel cut, basically it's the ECU hitting a wall because the sensors (MAF mostly) can't read past a certain CFM.. it's instant and feels like you engine fell out of the car lol. Also mine revved very happy to 7200 rpms which shocked me because i heard that you had to get a standalone to rev higher. Point is, the 7M has had such a bad rep because people that don't know what there doing though piggyback mods onto an old closed off hard coded ECU so you can't even tell what the hell is going on really and don't even have the car running right! Mine ran perfect the the 6-7 years i daily drove it and got about 24mpg mixed driving and over 30 on the highway. Never wanted to risk with piggyback systems and never saved up for a full standalone setup, that's all new sensors, fuel pump, ignition system, etc. But the only weak points are the oil pump and head bolts then it will last over 200K miles and run like new still like mine did when i sold it at 210K miles. It was queef quiet with the resonator delete but sounded like a GTO or Z06 when it opened up. Loved that car and now I'm looking for another one.

@@streamsdumb 3:27 - 4:04 is best example to talk about. I could nitpick everything but i feel it summarizes things well. 400hp is a conservative number with mk3 supra's if you know anything about them. If not the 7mgte is capable of much much more since it is the father of the 2jzgte, its actually the transmission options for those cars that were the limiting factor on high hp applications. Not to mention 400hp these days is not incredibly impressive since cars like the mustang gt are making more than that stock and if i remember correctly s550 mustangs actually weigh less than mk3's so it feels faster even in that regard as well. Yet it is sooooooooo impressive to this guy in suuuuuuch a 'high horsepower' car that it has leather interior (the supra's are actually gt cars so leather is a typical option) working a/c (many sports cars still make high horsepower with a/c since a/c doesn't actually rob all that much hp or add all that much extra weight in the grand scheme of things, and weight helps cars hold corners) and cup holders -.- or how about the fact that the dude barely gets in it and is praising the compressor noise as if he actually punched it, and talking about how quiet his turbos were. As if it is so hard to do 5 minutes of research and figure out y your turbos are so quiet and how to get them to be louder? He's got that thatdudeinblue syndrome where everything that's happening just so awesome and great that nothing could possibly top it until 1 second passes and things are just even better. It lacks authenticity and makes you look like a tool over praising everything. we get it its a good car but he says things like 'the car is immaculate, all the body lines are perfect' when you can obviously tell that the front clip on the passenger side doesn't line up with the hood for whatever reason. I'm not dissing the MK3, I like the car, but this dudes overhype of a pretty run of the mill supra build is just plain insufferable. Let the car speak for itself you don't have to sit there and remind us just how 'wicked sick and totally rad' this car is when you could spend that time instead taking respectable footage of Japanese classic.
