Hi, Have a 2006 Bettle 1.8 turbo in my shop. Clutch hydraulic system do you want to pressurize up. My thoughts is the clutch fork it's too far away from the slave cylinder shaft. Meaning that the clutch fork is either bent or needs bushings or both. My question is can that fork be removed without removing the complete transmission???

do you have to drain the oil to replace the main seal? and do you have to re-seal the oil pan to do this as well? or can you just re seal the part that bolts directly to the rear main seal?
@TheRollingTimes26 күн бұрын
@@WilliamAlexy-g5n i guess you dont have to drain the oil but some will come out when you remove the seal if you dont. You can remove just the rear main seal/housing without dropping the pan and usually seal it back up by cleaning and using some RTV, however the proper way and to ensure there will be no leaks would be to replace pan gasket at the same time. Hope this helps!

@@TheRollingTimes thanks man, what method did you use when you replaced it? did you drop the whole pan, or do a quick swap
@TheRollingTimes26 күн бұрын
@WilliamAlexy-g5n its been 5 years, ive done them both ways. For a customers vehicle I would probably estimate the pan gasket too. For my personal vehicle id probably just send it if pan gasket was dry.

@@TheRollingTimes also, there are a few mentions of uncommon socket sizes, but Im having trouble understanding what you meant in the video. what size socket do I need for the flywheel bolts? did you say 6 xzn?
@TheRollingTimes26 күн бұрын
@WilliamAlexy-g5n xzn or triple square are the same thing. I believe the pressure plate to flywheel bolts are 9mm 12point socket. The flywheel to crank bolts are probably xzn/triple square if they are factory. Aftermarket would usually be 12point 16 or 17mm. All of that hardware should be replaced, however if you choose to reuse it I would at least use blue loctite.

I’m trying to do it myself but I’m in dirt what what you recommend I lay down to hold my jack stands for like a few days till I replace my new transmission
@TheRollingTimes3 ай бұрын
@@kikibermudez6152 you could try using some wood under the jackstands although I wouldnt recommend jacking a car up in the dirt. Its unsafe and could give out without warning.

There are multiple ways to perform the same job, and multiple factors I consider when taking stuff apart.
