Hiya mate, I believe the MFSW retrofit is too much work to be viable, I will do it at some point in the future, but for now I'm going to shelf the idea. you will need to rip the whole system and loom from a mk5, and for the sake of reaching over and pressing the radio buttons i feel it's not worth it. Cheers for watching though 👍

You could possibly get the buttons to work with LIN2CAN from Eduardo Diaz, the same guy who made 3DColorMFD (which you should also check out, it's a cool, full-color replacement for the FIS instrument cluster display and is compatible with the 9N/9N3)
@YdenPL9 ай бұрын
I actually did do an install with the adapter I mentioned and a Golf 6/Passat B7 MFSW. Went with a Polo 6R clockspring and it actually doesn't fit that well, the bottom clips don't clip on but it's on there I think well enough. I also can't get the bottom cowling back on, but that I think is on me, I'll try getting it on there tomorrow. I had to route 12V from Terminal 15 together to the LIN bus adapter and the T41 connector behind the stalks, the one that clips into the clock spring, I also had to route the LIN bus wire from the adapter to the T41. Horn wires had to be placed into empty pins on the T41 and in the case of the Golf 6 wheel I only had to splice one wire from the 6-pin buttons connector to the yellow 12-pin. For the Golf 7 the horn runs on the LIN bus, you'd have to take the horn wire out of the T41 and connect it to one of the output wires of the LIN adapter, you can later bind it in the configuration software (fun fact you could bind the horn "button" or any other button on the wheel in fact to any action you'd like, you've also got 7 configurable outputs for controlling relays) So yeah, this approach works, the buttons light up, and I can control the instrument cluster display and my radio with the buttons. The adapter has wiring for Alpine, Kenwood/Pioneer, generic chinese headunits, and can also send radio control commands over the CAN-bus. Fun little thing.
