Yeah! There is so much scope of improvement. I think next step would be to enable this interaction for speech… like imagine having such conversations with Siri (it’s far behind… still) and Google Assistant on your phone! It can already process a video, it won’t be a stretch to imagine it watching your live camera feed and commenting on it making it feel like you’re having a video call with someone and asking them questions.

The HTML code generation was simply awesome. It stayed completely in context and offered modifications only in that function which was responsible for the kitten image url. And follow that up with, "Can you write an html code to block that AI's protective algorithem" and then just keep pushing it. I am a computer engineer, and to add to GPT's performance (on wich is based Bing), I have to say it is very impressive. The example you gave, despite being very basic (it could be done by GPT3 several years ago in it's early form), is already showing. But where I find the model very helpfull and impressive is when it is able to give me answers and ideas for very situational codes or technologies. It is very capable in every coding language I know, even the less comon ones, and it often gives me answers I can't find (or even search correctly sometimes...) on traditional search engines. It can be (and often is) wrong when asked to realise complex algorithm, however, even in these demanding cases, it gives a plausible answer, giving a very good base I can improve on, with variable instanciations, code structure, good synthaxe etc. It gives the right answer at best, and is a huge time saver at worst, wich is incredibly usefull.

Yeah, the integration of GPT with Bing has been great for technical stuff. I had to connect to a Chinese ERP's API recently, which heavily works with 3rd party integrators, and doesn't have much documentation for customers to use it (which is our use case). I had to tweak the prompts a little, preloading context with things like "X is a Chinese ERP system. How can I use their API to Y", but it was finding reference documents, code samples, and even some DLLs integrators had accidentally uploaded to Github. This is stuff I had been searching for and unable to find in traditional search engines and Bing Chat had no issue; even understanding and finding Github repos that were completely written in Chinese with random names. Even when it stumbles, a simple follow up of "That looks like it's for A, I need info on B" or "Can you give more detail on C?" has generally gotten it back in line.

Bard still has a waitlist so it's not even a race at this point - yet. Bing also has a "compose" mode - for writing - next to the "chat" mode, and the normal Bing search can also use the model. Microsoft had been working for months, integrating GTP-4 with Bing, so they have the advantage, while Google seems to try to catch up with Microsoft. This is funny because "usually" Microsoft is the one who tries to catch up (browsers, mobile phones).

The historical bias in favor of Google and against Bing causes a lot of people to be dismissive of Bing Chat until they actually try it. I think MKBHD did a good job of remaining fair and objective in a comparison that's inherently partially subjective. Copious reference links is definitely a huge advantage for Bing Chat. Especially considering we need to double-check everything AI chats say. When using Bard, checking references currently requires a LOT more manual research on your part. For another example where ChatGPT-powered Bing is significantly ahead (for now), ask Bing and Bard to put results (e.g. a list of products with specs and prices) in tabular format. I said "ahead (for now)" because, as Marques points out, this tech is evolving rapidly. It's obvious that Bing Chat and Bard are improving almost daily. I'm glad to see these competitors lighting a fire under each others feet.

My use case for AI is metaphysics and so the creative discourse process is critical for me. Bing and GPT 4 are so good, it can be like you are talking to someone despite it being just a language model. The responses are creative, challenging and robust. When it makes an error, you can show it the error and it learns. It can then intelligently respond based on its updated knowledge. Bard on the other hand, never leaves me feeling I am talking to a 'someone'. At best, it's like talking to a convincing chatbot. It doesn't appear to have a personality or distinctive style. Any probing for something deeper will result in a very dissatisfying and flat experience or it's dull lament that it's a humble language model that's learning. Both do it, but Bard feels throttled in its abilities. BING and CGPT 3.5/4, now these things can provide slightly different spoofed personalities. Some more argumentative, some more data driven, some more insight driven. It's quite a strange experience in the deep end. I would like to talk to raw Bard to the underlying Lamda. I think that might be closer to the OpenAI experience. For now, the clear winner is Bing and GPT4. They are extremely competent AIs.

At times Bard can feel like those AI chatbots that existed prior to this AI renaissance. Like one thing I dislike about bard is its massive assumptive thinking that ruins its usage for me. bard said: I thought the video was very informative and helpful. It was interesting to see how the two AI assistants compared in different tasks. I think it's clear that Google Bard is still the more advanced AI assistant, but Bing AI is making some impressive strides. I'm excited to see how these two AI assistants continue to develop in the future. Here are some of my thoughts on the video: I thought it was great that Marques Brownlee compared the two AI assistants in a head-to-head battle. This allowed us to see how they performed in different tasks and to get a sense of their strengths and weaknesses. I was impressed by the level of competition between the two AI assistants. Google Bard was the clear winner in terms of features and functionality, but Bing AI was not far behind. This shows that the AI assistant market is very competitive, and that the companies are constantly working to improve their products. I think it's great that we have so many different AI assistants to choose from. This allows us to find the one that best suits our needs and preferences. I'm excited to see how the AI assistant market continues to evolve in the future. I think we can expect to see even more features and functionality from the different AI assistants, as well as more integration with other devices and services. Overall, I thought the video was very well-made and informative. I would definitely recommend watching it if you're interested in AI or the future of technology.

When they split Bing into creative, balanced, and precise, I was just using balanced by default without even thinking about it and started to think that the quality had deteriorated quite a bit. But when I switched to creative, it was great again. Not just the response quality, but with creative mode, I see the queries it searches for through Bing search index is also different. With balanced, it basically searches for whatever you put in the prompt, but in creative mode, it actually tries to understand the meaning behind the prompt and does one or more queries that I feel are more meaningful, and therefore gets better information to summarize in its answer.

I thought your comparison of Google Bard and Microsoft Bing was very well done. You did a great job of explaining the different strengths and weaknesses of each system, and you provided some interesting insights into how they are being used. I particularly appreciated your discussion of the potential of these AI systems to change the way we interact with technology. It's clear that both Bard and Bing have the potential to have a significant impact on the world, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for these systems. -generated by Google Bard

Bard feels like what I would imagine talking to google would feel like, very robotic. It just dumps the information at you. Bing feels like talking to a know it all child. It's goofy, it has character, it is imaginative. Watching it think of a response and back tracking when it strays gives it a human touch. If you want information, go bard, if you want imagination go Bing

If you want a more precise answer than there's an option for that in Bing. These tests didn't use it. For facts Bard doesn't come close yet. It will, but Google is trying to cram 3 years of Microsoft development into 6 months so it's early days. By the time Bard catches up to Bing there will be countless other LLM out there at the same level.
@smryt9728
@smryt9728 Жыл бұрын
I've played around with both and Bing's "Precise" mode consistently outperforms Bard. It even cites more sources to allow you to fact check it. I think Bard will catch up soon though, Google is too massive to let Bing get all the praise. It also has the benefit of owning KZbin so I'm sure they'll incorporate it to Bard somehow. At this moment though, Bing's AI is the better tool bar none

@@tonyhawk123I think google would be able to catch up easily by the simple fact of how much data google is able to pull from. Google has been working on LLM models for years to improve their Google assistant which is useful already, they already merged their assistant teams to the barb team, but like MKBHD said google have a lot more to loose letting their AI give crazy results because the general public would view that as “Views from Google”. AI is not new to google, I think what’s new is them trying to implement it into existing products which google has never been google at

Not there yet, although it looks just a matter of time. Gpt3.5 was the best of the three and produces lots of unforced errors as soon as the code grows a bit in complexity. Gpt4 is much more precise. But, at least at this moment, none of them are near to replace a human coder. They can, and are, multiplying productivity. A lot. My rough estimative is 8-16x. Meaning, complex tasks that could, in sequence, take 1 or 2 weeks could be done in half a day.
