Everything I've ever heard about him personally is positive. I've seen videos where he's great with fans. He's just questionable as an umpire.

I couldn't agree more, he's a nice guy and a good person just not a very good ump.

As someone with awful vision, he is quite inspirational to me!

He's a good person, he just needs to find a different job.

He’s just known as “that guy” when it comes to umpiring because of the suit he had against MLB. He’s not THAT bad. But every mistake is highlighted because he’s Angel Hernandez

Angel Hernandez comes across as that one dude you would want to be friends with but not work with/for.

He seems like one of the nicest, most positive people out there. Impressive that he can stay that way with all the vitriol he faces.

Funny that he says Rizzo is a good guy for admitting fault yet Hernandez will never admit he was wrong even when was presenting with thousands of examples

I don’t think anyone thinks he’s a bad guy. And obviously, he’s much better at being an ump than the generation before him with umps like Gregg who’d call an entire playoff game 6” off the plate. It’s a different era now, and what was acceptable then isn’t today.

He's not the worst person to live. He definitely isn't good at his job but he isnt a horrible person compared to some other people who've been affilated with MLB.

At least half of these do NOT show him being a "good guy". LOL. The bar is pretty low.

He seems very nice guy but he is so bad at his job
@ericblade6152Ай бұрын
2:03 was totally a foul ball, it hits him in the leg, and the announcers are questioning if it's foul or fair. It's not even remotely foul, it's a total strike. Gave him benefit of the doubt there. But, still... this guy..... wow. You see in these compilation videos, as he gets more grey... he loses the ability to focus.

In the 90's after Harry Caray died the Cubs needed to find a way to continue to have a unique way of singing 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game'. It started with playing a recording of Harry. Later that year the team started getting mostly local celebrities and some national. One was Steve McMichael popular former Chicago Bear and former WCW wrestler. This ump blew a call against the Cubs early and the crowd was not happy. Steve went to the radio announcers booth for an interview, talking what was happening with Steve, with the Cubs and the Blown call. When the half inning was over. Steve went to the P.A. mic and before he preformed 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game' for the crowd and t.v. audience. Steve called out this up for blowing the call. Saying 'they were going to have words after the game'. Steve sings and we see hernandez talking to someone. It was security. The game comes back from commercial. Steve is seating down next to the t.v. boradcasters. Not ever 5 seconds after going live, Steve see security and makes a funny comment about how they were there to get him. McMichael's comment butt hurt him so much hernandez had Steve removed from the Wrigley Field For funnier versions singing, look up Kid Rock, Cookie Monster, Mike Ditka & Ozzy Osbourne.

Cuban players and umpires are not allowed to do many things in mlb and if they do the right things they get sent back to cuba this is why they have signed a contract differently from players which allows cuban players and umpires to file a lawsuit and motion against mlb if they get fired or release without notifying them
