I hate the fake friendship thing that some of them do. I had a friend who thought a guy was interested in her and she developed a severe crush on him, only to discover that he only wanted her as his Scamway downline.

MLM'S absolutely go after people especially with chronic illnesses because they use all the emotions we go throw while dealing with that (speaking from experience, that's how I ended up in the last 2 I was in). They will also start off by saying oh this will help or "heal" what I have. Honey I have had all this a lot longer than you been in your MLM, I know all about my illnesses. Ugh makes me so mad

Most toxic MLM excuse: Everyone has the same 24 hours in the day. Not everyone does. And if they do have the time, but they choose to prioritize differently from how the hun thinks they should.....it's no one's business! If I told someone I didn't have time to join their biz, I'd just be trying to get them to go away.

Faking a friendship is worse. They think that it's better 'cause people are quicker to say no with cold messaging or a new friend business message. They need to understand it as faking a friend while also explaining what that term means. Then more would or should understand how bad it is and it makes them look like a jerk and a liar. Also add in that it doesn't matter if they're interested in what the other person likes and that they start liking them. The whole plan is to pitch to that person anything from the mlm they're in. If it's a real friendship, then the mlmer would know if that person they're friends with and want to pitch to isn't about anything mlm. They might be fine with being friends with a mlmer, but they don't have the time and or money to support that or they just don't want to support it. That doesn't make them not a good friend. So it's even worse with wasting someone's time to pitch to them (either they know it's a not that great of an opportunity or they do). It wasted that person's time. Some people finally pitch and then stop talking to them after that person has signed up. That's on the worse side of faking a friend. It's a waste of a person's time and if someone isn't about mlm anything, that can mean that when they were pitched to by a "friend", they feel like that person isn't a real friend 'cause they don't know that about them with mlms when they should.

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2014 and you’d be shocked at how many essential oils and It Works reps went to medical school! They all came running. I was trying to learn my new normal, not deal with my DM blowing up.

I agree that befriending first and then springing a pitch is worse. At that point I’d have wasted so much time on that relationship

Not a mom, but I have multiple chronic medical conditions, one of which (type 1 diabetes) requires that I do the work of one of my internal organs. I also work a full time job that, depending on the month, requires 40-70 hours a week, plus a new puppy, plus other commitments that require doing things for and with other people. I am an introvert too, so if I don't have time where I can turn off my brain, I get overwhelmed.

"Remember your why". That can mean something other than why to be in the mlm. Yes, people want time and money, but that can be the why for leaving and not the why reasons uplines like to use to stay. Same goes for the mlm will change your life. Yeah, but that can mean in a bad way. So it's not a lie. It just doesn't guarantee that it'll change positively.

im hypothyroid and they target people who have a hard time losing weight. im low income, have many health issues mlm rep love make me feel bad if i cant lose weight fast enough.mlms are always after me as soobn as i say im trying to lose weight then im swamped with mlm reps either that or they try to get you to switch coaches.. not all mlm bother me i do like some of the products, im just not interested in the buisness side of things

Monica I still don’t think it’s the mlm companies that do this. I think it’s the shitty individuals that are so desperate for recognition, sales, and attention. They say whatever to make it happen.
