Also this isn’t important but I feel like it’s valuable information. In 2015 when this was originally put out, the success club system was not as described in this video. That system wasn’t brought in until like 2018-2019. The original system, THIS “prize” was for “success club 5”, which required 3 challenge pack sales during the month and 90PV (shakeology) on auto ship going through. Again, this doesn’t matter in the grand scheme because it’s still a super lame gift for that much work (3 people is more than you think when you’re trying to sell) and was absolutely worth nothing in my eyes and the eyes of hundreds of other people I knew. Also note this isn’t the weirdest prize. I used to have an entire “collection” of bobble head dolls that were the various super trainers. Do with that information what you will 😂 I still laugh at it to this day. It’s a shame they got smashed in their box during my move 😂

In my humble opinion (as someone who frequently gets new games from thrift stores) I don't bother getting opened ones, because there's no guarantee of all the pieces being there. So I'm not sure if donating it would do as much harm as people think, because most people getting games from Goodwill or other thrifting stores don't get opened ones. Meaning now that its been opened people are less likely to take it home. However if you DO want to donate it again I will say binding it up with a BUNCH of rubber bands, and putting a "THIS IS AN MLM HERE IS THE EXPLANATION ND SOME RESOURCES AS TO WHY THIS IS A BAD BUSINESS" card inside is the best way to minimize the potential harm of some unsuspecting mom grabbing this for her kiddos unawares and then get the idea of "Hmmm shakeology huh?" The lack of self recognition is amazing with the pampered chef. If that isn't the epitome of the meme you showed, idk what is. Great video, as always.

Put some of the cards and pieces on strings! Then, for your videos in December, get tiny tabletop tree, and you can feature a Cringemas tree in the background of your videos.

lol keep the whole beachbodyopoly box in it’s entirety- stick it in a corner of shame in your studio space and whip it out for the occasional joke. Maybe do a collab with CC Saurez and other anti-mlm content creators where y’all actually play it and turn it into a partly-educational, partly-snarky vid. Whatever you do with it, thanks for the hearty laugh😂

Hannah! You're looking GORGEOUS in this video, your hair is AMAZING! You always look lovely, but you seem especially radiant, if that makes any sense. I hope you're doing good, thank you for another fun top fails video!

From what my Monat friends said is that “ monations only sold it at the conference Saturday, then the monat reps were able to buy online the next day only” for a discounted price. Soooo true on how they highlighted that the reps are the ones buying the products.

I absolutely LOVE that you make sure that when you consume a MLM product in anyway, that you do not benefit the company, or a current seller, in anyway. Absolute perfection. I have no problem hearing it everytime. Every bit of that info is super necessary! ❤❤

The Pampered Chef lady's pitch -- I did catch a (subtle) red flag in the first half. She sets up a false dichotomy wherein either someone is hiding the company/being shady, OR they openly say what their company is and therefore there's zero shady or unethical behavior! Ignoring of course that though the name is presented, there are still a thousand ways to be unethical. I also enjoyed the crazy game unboxing! And I agree that the best choice may be to trash/recycle it. Great video again!

The maniacal cackle that came out of me when I saw the thumbnail…I cannot wait for this 🎉

It'd be awesome if you and some anti mlm creators got together to play the game before trashing it. Maybe for a fundraiser or something, that would be so fun!
@Psyche21310 ай бұрын
I would auction it to followers for charity or something. Or I would keep it and display it in the background as an ironic joke. It'd be a funny collection of mlm merch from thrift stores. I find alot of Avon stuff.

Omg the "fast food tax!" WTF. That game is something else for sure! 🤣 that has to be a giant joke. I mean that company didn't take this seriously?!?

Top fail 2- Legitimate companies GIVE their reps samples to try, for themselves and for their customers.

This was fun! I love the update about Optavia being given the boot off platform. I still vote you just throw the game away. Keep what you want out of it and just put the rest in the trash. It’s likely it can’t just be recycled due to all the different materials used to make it☹️

My husband got sucked into BB for a while. The shakeology made him smell like he was rotting from the inside out. The team dynamics were so unhealthy. Yeah he was thinner but was really unhappy and it nearly cost us our marriage. Now he doesn’t use shakeology, he doesn’t work out 3 times a day, eats more than chicken broccoli with rice, and is a much happier person.

maybe for the monopoly game keep it for now to play with other anti-MLM creators if you do any in-person collabs? could be a fun live stream or edited video popping up examples of huns doing what’s on the cards
@amberpeters281910 ай бұрын
It's pretty neat to watch your very thoughtful process on ethical consumption and disposal, I am not there personally but that is certainly something to work towards.
@historynerd24710 ай бұрын
adding to the point you were saying in fail 4 also what if the person is using a gift card to buy a coffee. I agree with what you are saying. You don't know what's going on in their life. Nor is it the huns biz. That person could be flying to get to a funeral or a sick family member.

BeachBody-opoly is a literal MLM blueprint. They laid it all out on the table. Literally. Unbelievable.
@burgundybabyy7 ай бұрын
I sold Monat for a couple months like 3 years ago. There is a TON of peer pressure during the weekly video chats with your team to purchase Monat products. And they literally call you out in front of everyone if you don't, but in a really sugary sweet way which is worse. I realized I was putting out soooo much money and making nothing.

What's kinda ironic is that Monopoly (or to be more specific: the game that Monopoly is based off of) originally was a satire against capitalism. One could almost take the Beachbody game true to tradition in the Same satirical way because of the innert cringyness of MLM.
@sava-smth10 ай бұрын
From what i know, it wasn't a satire, but an educational tool for teaching people basic principles of communism? Am i misremembering? 😅
@chronischgeheilt10 ай бұрын
Thank you, I Just rechecked :) The landlord's Game was the Name of it. Not communism but Georgism. And it did so in a very monopoly-elite-critical way.

Re: percentages- I have found that a lot of people in general struggle to comprehend percentages. From what I remember of my school years, percentages aren't taught until middle school (if they're taught at all). And further stats education is even more ambiguous.

100%. I get the basic stuff, but I wasn't taught "proper statistics" until college (and TBH it was my worst class).

Two things : first, I agree on the stage fright! I just finished my virtual speech class for college and 2 of my presentations my husband was home and I made him do his gym time at the time I had to present/begged him to play with the dog outside because I was 10x more nervous with him there. Second, if someone was filming me at Starbucks I would hope that I would have the confidence to speak up that I did not consent to being filmed.

They don't worry about people reading the tiny fine print because most people honestly don't. As someone who has worked in retail for 9 years, I can guarantee most people aren't looking past the giant 99%.
