*MLP Commentary* S6E11: Flutter Brutter

Today, we meet Fluttershy's family! In particular, her free-spirited, lazy brother, Zephyr Breeze

It may not be my outright favourite of the season (that's "A Hearth's Warming Tail") but it *is* one of my favourite Fluttershy performances of all time. Absolutely wonderful, and proof that 'Shy really has developed as a character. I was really iffy about seeing the family at first, but now I'd like another episode featuring them.

1. 0:20 "My little Flutters... has a brother!" Turns out you shouldn't have been quite so enthusiastic about that. :P 2. 1:01 "Aww, and she brought Dashie with her!" I've already heard a couple of people joking about what it could mean that Fluttershy brought Rainbow home to meet the folks. 3. 2:00 "Oh, so Flutters is the oldest." And the most mature by a mile. 4. 5:44 "Flutters! Watch your language!" In this case, I think her _language_ was entirely justified, albeit perhaps borderline NSFF. 5. 5:50 "Hey Pinks, AJ..." Us earth ponies gotta stick together, eh? ;) 6. 9:45 "I'm sensing a bunch of fics about these two, and that scares me." That's one ship I'd like to sink before it can even leave the harbor. 7. 10:16 Zephyr (to Flutters): "You always were kind of bossy." I couldn't tell if he was kidding, or if Fluttershy actually _was_ assertive with other family members even before she had learned to be assertive elsewhere. 8. 11:48 Zephyr: "Turn out the animal communication thing isn't genetic." Thank goodness! I wouldn't trust that guy to be responsible with an ability like The Stare. 9. 13:36 "Guys. I just saw Link, from Legend of Zelda, as a pony, going by with a cart full of rupies." Actually, it looked more like Epona wearing Link's hat to me... except for being the wrong gender. 10. 14:33 Zephyr (to RD): "I can already *feel* the electricity between us." There certainly _was_ a lot of electricity flowing between those two that day, and Zephyr was on the receiving end of it. ;) 11. 15:56 "Omg, he's gone Cast Away on us." Nice use of the mannequin head as a stand-in for Wilson. Final thought: The writers better not have any stallion hit on _Flutters_ like that or there will be riots.

1. No kidding. At least her parents are easy to like 2. Heh. I like to think that, as childhood friends, Dashie was a regular at the Shy household for meals =) 3. No doubt about that. I just find it funny that he's so much taller and lankier than she is, though I'm guessing the age gap isn't that huge. 4. Poor thing. I still can't imagine how she survived growing up with that guy 5. And possibly-cousins, too =) 6. If ever there was a time to invest in a torpedo... XD 7. Would kinda make sense, but with a guy like Zeph, it's not difficult to think she might be 'bossy' with him 8. Heaven forbid... 9. Maybe that's what they were going for. XD 10. **ba-dum tssh** 11. Starring Tom Hanks as Zephyr Breeze There'll be snowball fights with sno-cones in Hell before I'd let someone flirt with Flutters the way Zeph does with Dashie...

Another great commentary, dude. ^^ It really was refreshing to see Fluttershy being so bold. She has come a long way. Also, she may be more comfortable with her family, making it a tad easier to raise her voice at Zephyr on occasion. Or both. Both is good. x3 Also, Happy Birthday!! =D

You know I think it ain't easy being breezies is the best fluttershy episode because she learns a mature lesson that she has token to heart and has shown it through out season 5 and 6. She especially shows it in this episode don't you think?

Absolutely. I also find it amusing that his name's Zephyr _Breeze_, and she did what she had to do to help the _Breezies_. XD

Btw, did you notice Zephyr's cutie mark? It's a leaf blowing in the wind. I saw someone else postulate that it symbolized Zephyr's tendency to take the path of least resistance. His mark is the literal interpretation of the phrase "going with the flow".

On a personal note: One reason I dislike Zephyr Breeze so strongly is that I see something of myself in him, and I don’t like it. I hope I’m not that narcissistic or inconsiderate, but I’m also unemployed, and afraid to try things because I might fail. And I don’t want to be a parasite to my own parents, even though they’re good enough to let me continue to live with them. I don’t want to be ungrateful, and luxury is a gift, but it’s so easy for luxury to be used as an excuse for laziness: if I don’t feel immediate incentive, I act like there’s no hurry. But I can’t be a child forever.

There is one in every family. In my case, my dad's oldest brother Jack. He never got a profession in college and just lived off grandma and grandpa. When they moved into a masonic retirement center, he moved into his car. Haven't heard from him in 5 years.

Now we just need an episode on Rainbow's parents, and I know we will probably never get an episode on it but I would like to know more about Applejack's parents i know they passed on but i would like to at least know what they looked like, but i consider this to be Fluttershy's best episode.

When it comes to Fluttershy episodes there were some I liked others not so much mainly cause she was at the bottom of my mane 6 list from season 1 to season 4, watching her in season 5 is when she moved up my list, and even tho i like this one i would say It ain't easy being Breezies is probably my favorite of her episodes cause I have noticed she took that lesson to heart.

This is easily the best Fluttershy episode of the series. And while I think Newbie Dash is better, it's not by much, and both are among the best of the season.

I think it ain't easy being breezies is the best fluttershy episode because it had the most mature lesson in the show and fluttershy really took that lesson to heart.

One little detail I like in this episode: It’s obvious that Rainbow Dash does NOT have those kinds of feelings for Zephyr Breeze, and I definitely don’t ship them- -but even though that’s the case, she does seem to care about his well-being, and to be willing to help him. And though she has no romantic feelings for him, she doesn’t overcompensate either, acting like she disliked him more than she does: that would probably just make it look like she really did have feelings for him. (“Baka!”)
