Excellent commentary, Prof. Gustavo, as usual. Thanks much! Your point about Jones' eye contact is specially good. Jones said in an interview right after that he wasn't going to let go of that 50/50 for the remaining 15 minutes of the fight.

Ronaldo mistake is that he didn’t pressure Craig’s guard to his left side. He needed to flatten Craig out while also blocking Craig from going under him

All of ronaldo's spazzy passing is based on exposing his legs. This is what happens when you only compete ibjjf; you get lazy and use passes that don't fucking work without the comfortable ruleset that protects 50% of your body. Guess what, he'll have to learn proper jiu jitsu now.
@MMALeech3 жыл бұрын
True, most competitors will have to adapt to the new IBJJF rules allowing heel hooks now, it was about time.

The Brazilians have had a hole in their game for decades when it comes to legs, Dean Lister won ADCC 2003 with legs, foreshadowed DDS....

I don't understand the point of avoiding headquarters / top half guard if you're going against a leg locker. It's your best option by far, just go into the fire!

You can not give these legs lock guys so much space. These ibjjf guys keep standing up.
