You're truly inspiring. Didn't know it took you 4 years just to get your blue belt. I've been training for 2 years, going on my 2nd knee surgery (torn meniscus) and seeing this motivated me to come back stronger and be an example, just like you are. Congratulations again

The black belt journey seems almost impossible for a guy like Jeff because his striking is so good. To achieve black belt shows a special amount of bandwidth while becoming so proficient in other aspects of fighting. They say 1 percent make it to black belt but as a striking, MMA, and Muay Thai specialist I think Jeff is in 0.01 percent of the population. Most black belts are no where near him as a striker.

Genuinely inspired by this video - fantastic work! I'm relatively new to martial arts in general (~1.5 years training) and sometimes I start feeling impatient with myself, questioning why I'm not an expert striker yet, why my wrestling is still in its infant stages, why I'm not yet a blue belt etc. It is extremely easy to compare myself to others all over social media, especially professional fighters, and lose patience with how long the process truly takes. The fact that you've been training BJJ for 12 years is a testament to patience - this really is a lifestyle and there isn't any shortcut to get through it all! I hope your knee is alright as well :) Thank you for uploading all your videos and always keeping it real

1:37: I am struggling to tell if you are either hella nervous, trying to fit in every sponsor you can in one video, or just the most goochi guy I ever seen in self care. Either way I love it xD Congrats on the opportunity, i Recently decided I wanted to take Ju Jitsu seriously and so far a month in on the journey, it's hella fun. But I can tottally relate to the emotions. My TKD school was old school and made me wait ten years before I was even considered for black belt testing, I remember the day of the testing I coulden't even sleep from the excitement. By the time I did the test I felt like a zombie just going through the motions, but luckily it was just enough to pass haha.

Hey Jeff Chan, I know this isn't really the right video to explain this but I noticed some of your videos when people are doing judo throws you say they throw you over there shoulder? I don't mean to make you do all the work, re-edit all the videos because the videos are already awesome it's that some of the judo throws are actually hip throws so they throw you over there hip. Like when you were going against that sambo guy he got you with an under hook and performed an "O-Goshi" over his right hip. I love the videos especially the Grappling Videos, BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, I'm all for it. Keep posting, also congratulations, when I saw the community post about you getting your black belt I was waiting for the video where you talk about it and it's finally here!
