I'm wondering how it compares to Blue Protocol and how much more open wold and "MMO' Blue Protocol will be. For now BP is by far the game I'm anticipating the most : I'm tired of single player gachas. I want to go farm dungeons with friends and ppl I meet online. Unfortunately, I also adore large scale PvP in MMORPGs and Blue Protocol doesn't seem to be planning to implement any form of PvP, at least not in the beginning (which means if they decide to add it later, it probably will be bad and unbalanced). I may still try this game because it looks good. But if I start being matched with bots... I quit instantly.

Since we've gotten to play BP we can say even though it was segregated areas they're still quite massive areas in the areas to go and explore, would take you a few minutes to get end to end running. The areas in Crystal of Atlan that I faced so far were quite small and could be fully explored in a matter of a minute if you run with very little nook and cranny type exploring. PvP in Crystal of Atlan is quite small scale, but it does have it, BP does not. Might as well try both at least!

I'm in the same boat. I left PC gaming in 2013(ish) and moved on through life. Now, a decade later. I want to get back into gaming and miss that sense of communtiy that I found with MMOs. (Even games like Diablo 2 with lobbies before joining the actual game.) The options that I'm seeing for the type of game(s) that I'm looking for are the exact same ones that I left in 2013. World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV are still around and I played the former instead of the latter, so Final Fantasy is an option .. but it feels dated. I built my new gaming PC with 2023+ games in mind, so playing 2010-era games is unappealing, even though it may be the route I take. Honestly, the game that I miss the most is Wildstar! I know it exists in private servers, but I cut my teeth on private servers of Ultima Online "back in the day" and always found them lacking in population, so I have been reluctant to explore that option. It looks like I just happened to jump back into PC gaming and trying to find a game that isn't social first and a game second OR that is a game with a social element tacked on. Selecting my character from a screen doesn't feel as appealing as making my own character and exploring the game through that. I think I would enjoy being known for how I play rather than just a good "X-Character" player.

@@Torsion I hear ya. Wildstar was the game that should have been the game of all games. it was killed by extremely poor business decisions by the parent company. I watched a video on it and it was really sad. they could have turned it around, and in it's last days it was actually getting good! but the publisher had a very cutthroat approach to games and their profit margins, and it was knicked before it could really stretch it's legs. Even my son, who never plays MMO's wanted to play Wildstar. but I couldn't recommend it to him intially, and by the time it got turned around, they were already shutting the doors.

Once you said the upgrade system only has a *"chance"* to upgrade the higher level it gets is an immediate pass for me. You have games like Wow with their upgrade system that guarantees upgrades every time, as long as you have the mats to upgrade with. Seems this is another hyper monetized game based on greed, ported to Pc in a desperate attempt to spread the scumbaggery of the games greed.

Excited, regardless if it looks like Tower of Fantasy, if its less P2W nonsense (which tbh i doubt but one can hope) then it will be 1000x bigger and more successful if they know what they're doing. This really is Elsword but in 3D (with all of the gender-locked characters, different equipment for PVP, and profession divergence at a certain level). But can't complain, I loved Elsword when it was at its peak, so I'm looking forward to this game!

so energy doesn't regen? Not sure how well that will work out. Even in Genshin, a game notable for it's open world exploration, has regenerating energy. If that isn't balanced well that could kill the game right out of the gate. Interesting blend of action RPG and gacha elements, It will be interesting to see how it plays out. If they have an actual PC client (and not some horrid bastardized mobile client on an emulator), it may be worth playing...if the energy (a.k.a. playtime) system is balanced out. I have my doubts, but I'm keeping an eye on it. Sad to hear it's business direction. I've seen far too many games with great potential die out because they company made stupid decisions. Oh well, it may be worth a try. maybe we'll get lucky and a western publisher will pick it up. or it will go on the shelf with all the other gams with great potential that were killed by bad decisions.

Same, played Vindictus since the early beta and then for ~7 years actively and the first version of global Kritika online for about 1.5 years. This game looks more like Kritika to me but thats not a bad thing as long as the combat is the same fun, I will defo try this out at least. 'I prefer to solo play nowadays so thats a non issue for me'

some stuff seems decent...but then there is quite a bunch that just seems bad or annyoing. Like how the Game pretty much limits the amount you can play, but wants you to keep playing with your alts. That it's very solo player focused, don't get me wrong, I play solo a lot... but from what you said the dungeons are basically solo dungeons, except for some that allow 1 more to join. But also like you said, in most cases that was just bots. Then the whole stamina system is annoying. That it seems so repetitive is also not great. And then the biggest thing, that the studio already has layoffs. I guess i would just pass on it.

That "Claymore" is not even a claymore, that "Musket" is not a musket and that "Cannon" is not a cannon. Besides that first anime game that doesn't offput me with visuals but with systems instead. Energy system and gatcha are more piss-filled than TF2 sniper's offhand slot. Genshin did irreversable damage to stylised eastern game market.

The game graphically looks great as well as the combat and some other features and mechanics BUT that stamina energy not regenerating, gender lock and AI bots not being completely helpful amongst some other things you pointed out in review just diminishes my interest in playing to be honest. I can accept hub based like Soul Worker even though I prefer full open world their seems to be some concerns here on time limitations and the potential for over monetization creep to happen … I hope I’m wrong and they can make adjustments before a more global release but time will tell. Oh and the possibility of selling the IP to some other owner who may not care enough to further develop the game or improve upon is definitely concerning. 🤔😑

The moment you said chinese studio, my answer is NO! I don't support anything china, and their ccp way. Also this game is going to be 100% p2w or something along the line of money money money. Next time, please start with what studio makes the game so I don't have to waste my time.

Be honest Open world is useless in mmo ... End first city Main quest and neverr ever Go back to it , maybe one in a while to start new character or to Flex fancy amor... 80gbs of Open world designed for nothing...
