Feel sorry for the officer who had to do this, however, when he was talking to one of coworkers and he said "I don't know where he freakin got it! They were supposed to take away all his guns"----- I mean I understand the officer is in shock but he can't be naive enough to think that it would be impossible for the guy to get another gun even if they supposedly took his guns away. As it turns out, the man still had several guns at his house, so it appears no guns had been taken away from him or he had several that the police didnt see.
@aceofblueАй бұрын
For those wondering why the cop was still asking William if he could hear him or move a leg, It's protocol and some basic human compassion. Even though the guy was purposefully trying for sui by cop and a domestic abuser, it does not seem at all like this cop wanted to end him and would much rather the guy get help or be contained than end up dead. Cop was also shooting in the dark in fight-or-flight mode and didn't know where the dude was hit. People can survive some wild gun injuries sometimes, even if unlikely. I was an EMT for a while and I once worked on a guy who had been shot by police 5 times survived it all, despite being unresponsive at the scene. Even when you think someone is gone, standard protocol is to continue rendering aid until EMS arrives or someone with the power/rank to declare or pronounce death is on scene (which differs based on jurisdiction; sometimes a police officer of certain ranks can declare death, while in many other jurisdictions it's only fire/EMS, and in others it's only a doctor). In my department fire/EMS (in our case, paramedics and not just EMTs) could declare death, but to officially pronounce death legally had to be done by a doctor or coroner, and if nobody was on scene who could declare death, we continued chest compressions and airway all the way to the hospital.
@heyNXS5 күн бұрын
cool story, bro, but the officer mag dumped on a 60 year old from like 3 ft away - even in an adrenaline filled panic, you know the dude is apprehended or, in the least, incapacitated severely. at that point, one could clear the weapon and start resuscitation instead of waiting around and yelling dumb s#!t for the camera -- IF one was interested in keeping the other person alive. So, it's really a complete package. this cop falls short by doing everything he's allowed to do but not everything he's supposed to do. His cowardice is protected, and that's why we get weird videos that look and sound like this.

It's intriguing how cops appear to be trained to talk to obvious corpses for the sake of their body cam footage.

It's intriguing how many people wouldn't use their head in a situation like this, assume that the guy is gone, and end up getting themselves killed because they don't think. He shot in the dark, couldn't see the guy well, and could NOT confirm that they guy was gone. People do NOT have 9 lives like cats. Do NOT be ignorant with the ONE life you have.
