The flip side of that is if you just sell straight from the field you get taken to the cleaners on prices. If you can store grain, dry it yourself and market it when the prices are better all that work with the bin system and dryer becomes worth it.

I no longer have my grandpa but i sure remember my grandpa at the time being 90 years old and bucking hay bales in the loft and feeding cows. People ask why he did not have one of us help feed and his canned response would always be someone has to do it and it mise way be him. He feed the cows and wanted to make sure it done right.

Jim’s a good man, hard to find them like him anymore. Has a heart surgery and shows up to work the next day, now kids bust their knuckle or don’t get a break every two hours and disappear. I’m not saying he’s old, but once you start getting up there I’d say after 50… best thing you can do for your body is keep working. Far to many I’ve known work till they retire and pass away shortly after. We are meant to sit around and idle. Enjoy yourself, travel is you wish but stay busy and stay moving.

Onyx is doing great with equipment and coming into his own. I cannot get enough of your dad. What a fine gentleman he is. First class person and a great farmer. Like the snout protectors you put on the narrow head. Good thing you all got that head for the downed corn. Seems like your bin system is giving you some trouble.
