Samuel Newey he doesn't have a single world record, he's the best of his generation, but you can't be a GOAT without a single wr. Plus, I would say knowledge of strength, conditioning, diet etc. could count against him in this respect (i.e. Mo Farah was this good with all this knowledge, imagine how good (xyz runner from the 60s) could've been if he were competing today)

I am a competitive cyclist and there's always a mutual amount of respect from runner to cyclist and cyclist to runner. I can say this much.. If he runs 17 miles a day thats great as a runner. I do obviously more but I'm cycling so I'm able to make up more ground. So like I said in running standards that's fantastic. I cycled 190 miles in 20 hours from Metro Detroit down to Cleveland Ohio with little to no breaks.

That’s it he told you he has wicked strong lungs .. the way I think of running is strong lungs like a Horse 🐎 and trained legs . I just ran my first 5K this weekend and I got top 19 in my age group and top 43 out of 256 runners I started the race strong in the top Ten and the wind was blowing 25mph + for the first 2miles I burned up all my energy by the 2 mile mark and I started falling back hard I went from running 6 min miles to 8.26 min mile was my first marathon ever I only had one week of training to prepare for this race lol I’ve always been super athletic I’m 37 years old if it wasn’t for my Surfing and Paddle Boarding I think I would of died lol my training was 1 mile sprints up 257 ft up hill for 2 days the. 2 miles runs 5th day 4.6 mile run 6th day rest 7 day race day .. 💪🏽💪🏽 I’m very excited about running I’m definitely hooked ! Training every day now have another 5k race at the end of May ..

You can see how human beings are often just built differently when you see those guys together. One human being had his ancestors evolve in high latitude, colder climatic conditions, looks to be more mesomorphic and have thicker and denser bone structure and musculature with higher and more marbled body fat and the other human being has evolved from high altitude, tropical, hot and arid climatic conditions and is ectomorphic with long, lean limbs and high lung capacity (which he's maximized over a lifetime of intense training). Of course Mo Farrah put in insane amounts of work and should get all the credit in the world for that but at the same time the differences in specific athletic potentials are obvious as well.

20k per hour pace means run 400m in 1:12, and you maintained that pace for 90 seconds which is more than 400m. Which means your all out 400m should be at least close to 1 minute. That’s already better than most people.

When you run 20x400 (or even 3x400) you are not actually supposed to try to do them all out. I guess the HIIT guys don’t know that or something? You run them at something like 5k pace and it is not even that difficult until about the 12th one. I can assure you that if you get it right it is plenty difficult by the 18th. Of course Farah wants to train his body to run at 90-100% of VO2 max for a fairly long time, not at 115% for 1 minute.

@adarqui7 жыл бұрын
That probably means you are either overweight, have weaknesses that need to be addressed, have bad form, have bad shoes, or are progressing too fast. If you are in great shape for sprinting, you should be able to run 3k no problem. Not saying you should be able to run a fast 3k, but running a 3k at a comfortable pace shouldn't destroy your knees or shins if you are in proper sprinting shape. I'm basing this on experience of hearing similar comments from other people who turn out to be out of shape, but who knows.
