@Anthony Gist She accepted a deal based on "friendship" and what she thought was integrity from Lee Daniels. She clearly states that she did not accept the role for the money. She stated that clearly in the video. She later came to discover she was the only one with the integrity. Lee clearly had none and she is not the only one who discovered that about Lee Daniels..just ask Dame Dash about that. She was not complaining about the deal she made with Lee. She was referencing the ancillary experiences that had nothing to do with Lee's production company. She clearly does know her worth as she has a million dollar comedy act going on in Las Vegas now. She is in an industry that attempts to push a particular narrative about black men and women and she is choosing to push back for the sake of all the little black girls that will be coming after her...All indications would show that she has a firm knowledge of the industry she has chosen. Tiffany Haddish..plays to the stereotype that hollywood is pushing...she gets the cookies. Eddie Murphy...false equivalency..men in hollywood generally tend to get paid more than women..although white men make far more than any black actor by comparison. If you identify as a black man( foundational black american/descended from the killing fields of slavery) then you know what is occurring in Hollywood...if you do not identify as black (yup....you Mr. Gist) why do you care about any of what you chose to write about???? Enjoy your day..Troll..nice try though...

They didn't count on her sticking to what she believes and the black community rallying behind her. Same shit happened with Katt. They forget that the new generations grew up on these people and when these generations gain positions of power, they make their dreams a reality. Donald grew up on Katt, so when he got his show, he put one of his idols on it. Bad deeds can't be hidden forever and in the digital age, it's getting harder and harder to assassinate someone's character based on lies. I also think there are a lot of underrated actors/artists out there who aren't fully credited for how they've worked so hard to be percieved and recieve what they've worked for to obtain. From what she's explained in this video it seems not only should she be credited for who she was then but it is also a race issue in the industry. It's unjust. Racism put aside, being an artist or actress, most and a lot of the time, are taken for granted as well and advantage of.

Woman, gay, man, comedian real thespian or whatever. We dont get equality and wont get it by saying look at the injustice. What Monique did right this time around was not taking the deal. She had no problem with the amount of the money, that's what she agreed to respectfully. It is the best gig she has ever had being in the business over thirty years, and it is less than a 200 seat venue. Chitlin circuits range in that same size. Monique, at one time, was with IMG management, an A list agency. They let her go based on her behavior. Sidney took over and ran her career off a cliff. When he was on the phone with Netflix they hung the phone up on him. Sidney said managing Monique career was the same as selling socks. No one in the business likes, needs, or respect Sidney. Christian Alexander, Some of these people just make up their own reality. The strain in her voice indicates Monique has been screaming off camera. She better hope the decision makers of her Vegas gig don't see this interview as she is behaving unstable. Monique is suffering from the backlash of her own hate, hating her back and they call that laughing. God knows I do not understand. .

Monique speaks the truth and it’s too much for others because it points out their flaws, weaknesses & lack of integrity. Monique will always be ok because she speaks her truth in all her real ness 💪🏽 #respect

I will always respect and admire that when Monique speaks out, she's not just focused on herself. She's thinking about those coming after her. I believe that because she has a heart to help others, blessings will come to her and her household

It's a Damn Shame how hollywood is trying to paint her as difficult and negative when she is an inspiration and so positive I ❤ her and the stand she took 👊😌

It's no coincidence when most people say "Don't Meet People" you lookup to; because the perception of what you have about them, isn't always so. Check through history, esp the entertainment industry; how most people incl executives, speaks about receiving bad contracts in their come-ups but turn around giving other's the very same thing when they have power to change that!!! -Monique "Bout It Bout It" Ughhhhhh

S Lewis So true! I had this very experience when meeting Mya Angelou & Jesse Jackson. Very rude & nasty. Mya had the nerve to get loud with me at a wedding & I had to push back, like hold up you are not God. And Jesse straight rude while visiting my church. Im still in shock. 😳
