I starting running mid-January this year (2019) and can't express how much passion has grown in me for the sport. Before that, I was playing video games 5-6 hours a day for the past decade. I just ran my first race (10K) and am attending my first half marathon in 3 weeks. I am very excited about it. Your positive mind, Mo, is what makes you a great runner. That is what I am taking from all your videos so far. Cheers and love from Vancouver.

How was it? It was my first one too. I am glad it's over and done with. I got sick of all the long runs and told myself towards the end of the training that I do not want to do another marathon and I'll stick to half-marathons. After some time since the event, I'm already thinking on how I could have improved my preparation and training for such events. I was in the green corral-the slowest but my aim was to complete which I did. My right knee was hurting like it was during the end of the training schedule before the event. This really slowed me down along with my thigh muscles becoming tighter.
@DanRuns5 жыл бұрын
@@bravoalley228 Hey! Congrats on getting it done. I was looking forward to tackling the event on the day after the training block. I think it's always healthy to reflect and the conditions on the day didn't make it the simplest, especially that last 6 miles with the wind! Do you have any half marathons booked in yet? Hope you're recovering well

Thanks for the encouragement Mo. I'm running the London Marathon this year with my daughter, Sarah. I ran the first London Marathon (and a lot more since) but this is my daughters first one so I will pace her round. I'm 71 yrs. old she is 30 yrs. old so a combine age of 101. i wonder if that's a record for a dad and daughter in the London Marathon. Lol.

Love you bro thanks for the tips👍 How do you prepare a week before your marathon?
@tothewheel5 жыл бұрын
IF you're looking for questions: I've just started running, aiming to do a marathon at the end of the summer. My slow runs are around 9:40-9:45/mile for 2-3 miles, fast are 1 mile around 8:15-8:30. Should there be more difference in speed? Obviously I need to work up to longer long/slow runs, should I work on running my slow runs slower? Fast runs will get faster as I get in better shape, I'm not too worried about that, but maybe I should be. Should I run to be tired out at the end, or should I have energy left to kick the last couple hundred yards? Or should I save that energy and not kick?

My biggest question has to do with common courtesy for non pros in a marathon. I havent ran one before but based off other times I should be able to run a 2:45. Is it rude to try and shove to the front so I'm not impeded going for a PB? I Want to get out with a semi serious pack rather than fun runners (no offense) I have to waste energy darting between. What about with water stations is it generally acceptable to toss the cups aside? Lastly I can sometimes get bad runners gut towards the end of long runs what do you do then? Is it better to fight the pain and hold it in to the end or make a fast stop at a porta John to feel better after?
@phildurre94925 жыл бұрын
Steven Grennier dont be ashamed to stand where you belong! if you start 3:55/ km go stand where they run that pace! personally if i have shit i cant hold it so go for it. if you have to pee, well i guess you just do it while running ;) yeah disgusting ! Have never quite reached 2:45 but if you come from short distances, make sure you put in the 30+ runs it’s absolutely vital. Good luck
