Tsubomi does (platonically) care about mob. She’s been keeping an eye out on him throughout the show (complimenting him on helping Emi, testing reigen with fake relationship questions to see if mob’s teacher is legit) and she waited through a freaking tornado because she realized how much it meant to him to get a chance to talk to her. Now that Mob has stopped putting her on a pedestal, hopefully they get a chance to actually become closer now (whether as friends or partners). People are mad that tsubomi rejected him, but the whole point of this finale is mob, who was previously motivated by the thought of tsubomi as his reason to improve himself, continues to try to improve even after she rejected him. It started off as being for tsubomi, but now it’s for himself. If you only want to become a better person to get a girl, then you’re not actually trying to self improve and you’ll backslide if the relationship ever falls apart

Something I think people who found this ending lacklustre seem to forget: The main conflict of the show was never the big flashy fights or supernatural powers; it was Shigeo's conflict with his emotional state and powers, and Reigen's conflict with his ethics and morality. Both these conflicts are explored throughout the series, and finally we get to see Reigen finally open up properly to Shigeo, and Shigeo is finally able to experience a strong emotion without it overwhelming his powers.

I liked how the title of this episode was called ‘Confession’. But it was never about Mob’s confession to Tsubomi. It was about Reigen’s confession to Mob that he was a fraud. That was what was important to him, and allowed him to grow as a person. It’s why Mob’s real confession took place off-screen, because that’s not what was important. How is Mob any different from the 100 other guys who simp on her, even if he has history? After revealing his romantic interest and being rejected, nothing is inside mob anymore. He is 100% complete and shows his full kind personality and can talk to her as a friend- and they are getting along so well, Mob's friends already think they are boyfriend and girlfriend, which makes mob blush. He did the hard part - tell Tsubomi he likes her romantically. Now all's thats left is for her to decide if she feels the same way back. Whatever happens, happens. We know our boi Mob is okay.

There was absolutely no way she would have accepted Mob. He was hard in her friendzone and given he always pedestalized her, Mob was already playing a losing game. The only way he can now get her is to first free himself from her grasp completely by treating her like a normal girl he sees at the neighborhood but doesn't care to know the name. He needs to build a good physique (even if it means using his powers to dope) and get POPULAR. Very important. Once he gets his looks and popularity up, other girls will start noticing him, Tsubomi as well. Using female jealousy is one of the most efficient ways to get a girl. At that point, Tsubomi will be the one to start approaching him (maybe even start pedestalizing him depending on how much of a chad he's become) and he can use that to his advantage. Dating is all a mind game and if you're not ready for it, sit back at home and play video games. NB: Never confess to a girl twice. NEVER!! It will make her feel you did all that effort just for her and unlike in fairy tales, this will turn her off. If you want the girl who rejected you in the past, study the kind of guys she likes (usually bad boys) and try to copy some of their traits and habits. If you can't, just look for another girl.

Honestly, she made the right choice. Not saying Mob wouldn't make a good boyfriend, he's a swell guy overall, but neither of them really knew each other. She knew about his powers, and he knew she liked them and didn't find them off-putting, but it felt as if neither really knew who each other were. Getting into a relationship with someone you know next to nothing about is not a good idea. So, now that they're actually talking to one another, if their relationship keeps developing, it could result in a romantic relationship further down the road. And seeing as Tsubomi actually waited for him despite everything going on, it tells me she respects him at the very least.

Agree and disagree. Dating is all about getting to know someone. For some it’s important to already know the person but not everyone is the same. In tsubomi’s case, Mezato mentions Tsubomi is rather independent and doesn’t keep her heart on her sleeve. She’s simply not looking for a relationship. I mean she rejected so many guys with no mention of actually looking to date.

She does respect Mob, after all she admired his actions when he supported the girl that dated him for a dare, when her "friends" were bullying her about writing a "cheesy" novel. She also was about to cheer Mob during the marathon, but stopped herself when seeing Mob was so out of breath and focused on keep going that he wouldn't notice. Overall, even though it sounded rude, Dimple was right when he told Mob "Tsuboni-chan will never date you Mob, she knows herself and her values very well, and she knows how to say no." She respectfully waiting for Mob's arrival, and told him "I don't see you in any romantic way", but this opened the door for Mob regaining communication with her, from what it is explained, she is similar to Mob in the sense that she doesn't show her true self too much, but now Mob is a sincere friend, and one that she needs given her school change, because she's starting anew and has no friends there (not that she can't make new friends, but having a good friend through a new and unknown situation is always good and helpful).

I didn’t mean that in a literal sense as Mob and Shigeo are both one and the same; I meant the entire last episode was symbolic to him finally obtaining control and accepting himself as he truly is. He no longer keeps his emotions in check and he’s finally free to express himself how he sees fit. This is why the scene said “Kageyama Shigeo 100%” instead of “Mob 100%” because hes finally free of that mindset of losing control. The fact you even pointed out it was a nickname further proves the symbolism as Mob was an Alias of Shigeo

The most beautiful thing about this moment is this: In this moment, completely voluntarily, Mob allows his emotions to show completely. He allows himself to feel something, to visibly show that he's in pain, and he's no longer holding himself from feeling things. I mean heck, Mob Psycho III is very blatantly about Mob finally letting his barriers down and allow himself to feel things. /He's human./ In Mob Psycho I, Dimple outright calls Mob "livestock without emotions" and the crux of the battle revolves around that. He's made such huge changes to himself and his life.

Although him getting rejected is sad, the significance of this scene is that he is finally able to cry and let his emotions out rather than hold it in and have his % meter go up. He has finally come to terms with his repressed self. Personally, I felt that this scene of him crying was actually a happy moment. He is finally able to express himself fully with his friends comforting him, which is also why the ending scene of him genuinely laughing was so beautiful. Also, throughout the series, one of Ritsu's biggest fears was Mob getting rejected by Tsubomi because he believed it would cause him to explode. Mob's reaction in this scene really shows how far his development has come.
@bladewolf392 жыл бұрын
Mob gets rejected, but when you really think about it, this confession was really different compared to the ones Tsubomi got before. Here, she was willing to wait for Mob, regardless of the ensuing chaos that surrounded her cuz at least she and Mob were friends at one point, unlike the other boys who confessed that she had no idea who they were to begin with. To me, it seems like though she doesnt feel the same way for Mob, that might change. Compared to the other boys, at least she still opened a line of communication with Mob. At least she still talks with him on a daily basis. The other boys only saw Tsubomi as a pretty face, while Mob already knew what Tsubomi was like from the start.

I think most fans figured by Season 3 that Mob had put Tsubomi on a huge pedestal and had a crush on the _idea_ of her without really getting to know her very well. Since a rejection was pretty much the only real outcome from him asking her out, not showing the actual conversation between them was a great stylistic choice. It's like the act of asking her out (and getting rejected) wasn't that big a deal. The big deal was that for the first time in the series, we see Mob cry freely about some regular 14-year old girl trouble.

i don't think it means anything because that feels antithetical to the main theme of the show, rather that's just the kind of person tsubomi is and how much she still respects mob as a friend without any romantic connotation. still very awesome of her to wait for mob through it all

This scene is literally perfect in every way. The message in it is needed for all the younger people (and also many adults) It is normal in life to be rejected many times and it is also very normal to be sad or devestated by it, but it is also very okay to show your weakness to your loved ones as they will always help you heal. Mob's growth is literally perfect
@plasmahandoku10732 жыл бұрын
I believe this ending is to show that yes Mob is afraid of rejection yet his other self was doing it for him. So now he has the willpower to ask her out. Yet he still got rejected and is now experiencing it to develop further as a person.

This is the first time you see Mob expressing actual emotion, every other time he used his psychic powers as a medium for his emotions and they were the catalyst for releasing his power, but in this moment it is mob in his purest most normal self, it's Mob Kageyama at 100%

I really loved this ending and honestly, I loved Tsubomi so much. What made her such an impactful person to Mob was always that she was honest to a fault. She accepts the feelings of every guy who confesses to her and turns them down personally one by one, no matter how annoying it gets for her lol. She sits through a tornado on the slim chance that Mob will show up, because she made a promise to him to be there. And as a kid, she was honest about getting bored with Mob’s powers, which made him realize that power doesn’t make you a well-rounded or even interesting person. Mob has known her since long before she became the school idol, back when she was the kid who would get bored and go home in the middle of hide and seek. He knows that she respects both him and herself too much to ever lie to spare his feelings. And if he can ever become someone who she admires, he’ll know that he really earned it. And he did! Even though she turned him down, she clearly did it out of a massive amount of respect for an important friend. Throughout the whole series, we’ve seen glimpses of her watching Mob from afar. She sees how far he’s come. And despite turning Mob down, she still keeps in touch with him after she moves. As Reigen says, “they can exist without distorting each other.” They can be their most honest selves with each other. Romance or no, that’s a special thing. I love Tsubomi.

Mob has come a long way to better himself. Even if he was rejected, that's okay. Expressing much emotions is a part of life. It is absolutely perfect that Shigeo was rejected. Tsubomi is fawned over my pretty much every boy in school, and she respectfully rejects every single one cause why would she say yes? She's not looking for a relationship, she's shown to be a well-rounded person who knows what she wants, the opposite of Mob at the start. Mob has put her on a pedestal thinking she's special, and that pedestal has kept him away from truly interacting with her. (this is not special, his teen crush is dime-a-dozen) During the epilogue we see that Shigeo now well-rounded has been actually talking with Tsubomi on the phone quite a bit, and they've become actual friends. And it's a genuine friendship and not just Mob being a nice guy. In the end despite being rejected, Shigeo is actually closer to Tsubomi than he's ever been, and if they do form a relationship it'll be stronger because of the effort he's put in. Just like how muscles earned through hard work beat muscles made with Esper powers. Mob learned from the start to not think of himself as any more special than another person, the last lesson he truly learned is to not view Tsubomi as any more special. Which has ironically let him have a more special relation to her than before.

Just imagine what would have happened if ???% won, and he waltz up to tsubomi tornado blazing, demon face on and hands her flowers. When she saw that mob destroyed the city just for her, she would have been way more harsher than a simple rejection.
