My uncle Jerry worked with this woman running numbers for her in the lower east side. He drove a Cord and had her picture which he kept well into the 70's when he passed away. He was never arrested as far as i'm aware, but the FBI made him shut down his part of the racket when the war stared, they took his Cord automobile and made him work at a war plant - but never prosecuted him...

I've always loved and has been inspired by Stephanie St. Clair. There was another, who I'd consider as "sorta, kinda a contemporary of Stephanie St. Clair." Her name was, Odessa Madre, A.K.A. ‘The Lady Al Capone.’ Without going into it too much, there were a lot of characteristic similarities between the two. Except Ms. Madre's turf was in Washington D.C. Check her out, if you haven't already.

@@afewbadmen. I thought that might be the case. Obviously you and everyone else who has a keen interest in history has to gather information from somewhere. I just think it might be helpful if now and then you can recommend something that’s available to the public for those of us who want to explore a little deeper. But you do a great job distilling and summarizing everything. And it’s not easy being a good storyteller who presents a lot of information and has a sense of humor. Keep on keeping on, Lone Ranger, and see yiz in the funnies.

These really were “the funny papers,” weren’t they! MG! The NERVE of people back before Social Security cards & picture IDs! When I viewed the Dutch vlog, I KNEW The Boss would have the goods on Madame Queen as well. Escaping a sex fiend only to end up “gang banged” (original translation) by a lynch mob on a passenger bus was brutal! Too bad Ms. St. Claire had no sanctuary & wasn’t one for staying out of sight & staying inconspicuous. Hamid sounds like a real Rocky Horror precursor. Ms. St. Claire (probably pronounced “Sinclare”) should’ve consulted an old-time matchmaker, being from Guatemala where the Spain-empire had colonies. I’m sure she could’ve found someone able to dodge “shots ringing out” half as well as she could, somewhere closer to that Harlem section that became Spanish eventually. A colorful life, but unjustly brief all the same. She’d have made a great contributor to films & documentaries, has she lived longer. PEACE ☮️ to The Boss. Very, very well organized and “funny,” a touching, funny, story. 🌺🌷🪷

Griselda Blanco has to be one of the richest, powerful, feared and respected bosses of all time ( a self made BILLIONAIRE) and she was female.
