+Matapatapa yep, i had 4Gx mobile broadband which in aus is much faster than 4g and better coverage and had 8GB, for fun a friend and i decided to download as much as we could (cause it was free) we wrapped up 55GB in 2 hours

Well said. I really can't understand the concept behind 1Gb speed on mobile phones, since they are way too limited, all around the world, no matter where you live. Although I know that it can be used for other things, like for example Tesla that uses 4G network and gives you free access to Internet through the car consol and for other porpuses, but in a handset with a super limited data bandwidth? That doesn't make any sense.

No I didn't see it, and I'm absolutely not interested, seriously. I don't care whether they're gonna invent 1Tb or 50Gb. I have 100Mbps on my phone and I am absolutely happy with it, even though I consider this "too fast' because of the data caps.

xXSexyIsaacNoscoperXx The hairy 1G doesn't exist anymore, well not for cellphones. it was shut down. 2G can do web browsing but it's quite slow. it also supports calling. 3G can do web browsing and phone calls. 4G LTE can support speeds of well over 1 Gbps. If you live in the US, in most markets, AT&T can support speeds of up to 75 Mbps in most markets, Verizon 150 Mbps, T-Mobile 150 Mbps, And Sprint about 100 Mbps. There are other things that come into effect that make Sprint much slower than AT&T.

Why the hell would you ever need a gigabit cell connection? That would use up my data plan in 6 seconds.
@calebhabegger2866
@calebhabegger2866 5 жыл бұрын
It would not. Think of your internet connection as a tube. Bigger the tube the more stuff you can put in it. Up to 1 gig means you can put up to one gig of data into it. It does not mean your phone is using one gig every second. Unless you have 48 downloads running in which case would use the same amount of data on a lower speed. Better speed means faster phones for doing the same equivalent things you did before just a bigger tube if you need to upload and download multiple things.

Analog cell phone service *did* support mobile Internet (or other online services) using a modem, just like a landline telephone. In the late '80s and early '90s, some laptops and handheld computers were available with special cables to connect them to a cell phone for mobile data transfer.

However I would be happy to see those linked in the description in addition to having them only on screen for a few seconds. Then again I'm one of the few people who has notifications turned off permanently. Explaining how phones are technically radios. And how they use bandwidth, and cells. Like cells next to each other are using different frequencies. It's a great way to explain the difference between the versions. Especially to people afraid of 5g.

Mobile Networks are really complex things to explain however, I think some glaring omissions would be the lack of explaining 3G technologies on CDMA networks like Bell, Verizon, Sprint etc. such as EVDO rev A & rev B and a clear distinction to be made that all the advances after 2G explained were all advances made using GSM Network architecture as their basis. Oh, and EDGE and HSPA+ (2.75G and 3.5G) are transitional technologies primarily developed to maximize data revenue on existing networks before transitioning to newer networks (as well as being fallbacks when the next-gen network isn't available).

Could you do a video comparing/benchmarking the new Godaveri APUs to the old Kaveri. Are they worth upgrading to or should we wait for Zen. The specs suggest that there is little difference between the two. Thanks

Well, for the "Turbo buffed 3G", the Telekom in our country did actually call it 3.5G. So we had 2G, 3G, 3.5G and now 4G...

Its an 8 year old video. I don't think most people were even aware of 5G except for those in the telecommunications industry.

Seriously, Linus, you don't need 300mbps in order to watch KZbin at 1080p. I'm rocking right here with just 1/50 of that.

Linus, I want to know the differences between various network frequency bands(2G, 3G and 4G). What are the differences between FDD and TD LTE? Why do they use various frequency bands for the same network? These are the mobile networks supported by the Samsung Galaxy Note 5: NETWORK Technology GSM / HSPA / LTE 2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G bands HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - N920T, N920A, N920I HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - N920G 4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800) - N920A LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700), 19(800), 26(850), 28(700) - N920I LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 26(850), 28(700), 40(2300) - N920G Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE Cat6 300/50 Mbps/ LTE Cat9 450/50 Mbps I don't understand the differences between those bands for the same generation, All I can differentiate is 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G (GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, HSPA+, LTE).
