I remember my friend getting me this for my birthday years and years ago. It was so addicting. I can't find any videos on those secret characters you can use cheat codes to unlock, but I remember using those secret characters and they were ridiculously cool. The red Gundum with the cannons was my favorite for the missions. If you see this comment, would you be able to show us a video of those unlockable characters?!?!?

Hey Nick. I know that in the Federation campaign you can unlock the Rx 78 Gundam around mission 23-24 and unlock another one past mission 50+. I forgot what mission it was wafter the 50+ mark.

Yup, double tap the left/right direction arrows to do a quick boost to dodge stuff. Also when the caution is red, that means an enemy attack is incoming, usually a projectile about to hit you.

Just got the second RX 78 Gundam on mission 80-81. Its Amuro's gundam but with one star. Very late in the game honestly.

Is there a certain order to do missions? Sometimes when I play a mission, a few of the others disappear. And also what do the missions with the rings/ red around them represent?

Knowing this game was released in the PAL region and I plan to get my PS2 repaired or replaced very soon, is this a title you'd recommend to someone who may probably never become close to fluent in Japanese? After watching Rerez's review of the notorious War for Earth FMV game, I might give Gundam a proper look before too long! Knowing how much Gundam content there is, I will NOT watch EVERY movie and show, but I will definitely check out the original Mobile Suit series, that 91 movie I hear is a good entry point for newcomers and the Gundam Wing series that aired on Toonami in my country in the early 00s!

This was my first Gundam game and I would recommend anyone who has a passing interest in Gundam plays this. However it does not tell you the story of Gundam, if your looking for story I would suggest the SD series, the newer PS4 games crossrays and genesis do a good job of giving you're basics of the story. However it more an rpg then this game which is more an arcade shooter.

Man I have such good memories of this game. Controls were "meh" sometimes but I liked the concept of it. An entire military campaign on one side or the other, I actually liked it more for not being the protagonist but just a simple soldier finding myself sometimes "in the way" of the original series events. I remember those first red missions and thinking "wow red? what could possibly be so hard?" and then crossing the characters and getting my ass kicked by Char or Amuro. Is there anyway to play this in 2024 on PC I wonder?
