Alternate UC. Why not just make another AU timeline? It's okay for another timeline to be similar to UC. Both the Wing and Seed timelines are very similar to UC. What Gundam really doesn't need is to be more complicated. That's the most cited reason why people don't get into Gundam. And Bandai seems more motivated than ever to get new fans into the franchise.

To be fair, Gundam wasn't even a type of MS during 79', it was just the name of the RX-78. Now any MS can be a Gundam as long as a prerequisite is met (I.E. taking part in the Gundam Fight, using the Gund-Format, stuff like that.) It's weird, but you could have a Gundam Zaku as long as the need is met.

I just don't understand why they couldn't have went with the Gundam Rise Heavy as the main design. That one looks great. Why did they feel like they needed to take it further with the Gquuuuux? Then they could have called the series Gundam Rise or something. The base designs are already a huge departure from traditional Gundam designs, in a good way. But I simply cannot get behind the Gquuuuuux. It looks horrible. Truly baffled.
