I’m astonished how nicely that hull came up. Beautiful blasting job, the owner must be thrilled. No nasty rust patches, scabbing or pitting. Seems to have a better paint coat than the stuff they slap on narrowboats.

If it is a sandblaster that's had water then it is a messy process and a lot more work plus more money as the chemical needed will get into the waterway system although you can get eco-friendly chemicals it is even more expensive. Doing it this way the waste can be scooped up easily enough and disposal isn't that expensive 😊👌👍

I do have another video that's nearly ready to be uploaded and I do mention the times and what day it is into the job but the last time I did this I got a call from another blasting company saying I was giving potential customers false expectations he was convinced I was lying about my time scale I couldn't see his side unless he was putting himself in the same league as me. I can honestly say it takes years under the lid to make it look as easy as these videos make out. I have a mate who's a blaster and he's 10 year-ish experience but I wouldn't trust him to blast me anything he's good at doing what he does industrial items to the same spec day in day out he doesn't push his skills on a daily basis on other projects ie like boats brick wood stone etc etc I enjoy doing something different every day it keeps me ontop of my game 😊

@Mobileblaster5 ай бұрын
@donovanschumacher3630 lead has been banned since the 60s. I did not on this job as it was made after this time but I do have test kits on the truck I did a quote a few weeks back and when I did the test it indeed said lead was present I could do the job but it adds alot of costs ie dubble tenting with a decomposition system and the clean up cost are astronomical more than likely the reason I've not got the job but if I'm honest I could do without the messing about 😂

Mick, you will obviously have developed working postures that are comfortable when blasting the undersides of boats so please excuse the presumption of this question, but have you considered modifying a mechanics trolley of the type that rolls under lorries ? I was thinking of your back, and getting older ....... Best regards, and good luck
@Mobileblaster5 ай бұрын
@ourfarmhouseinspain the wheels would get snagged on the pipes and crud I find comfortable spots by wedging the pipe somewhere and trying to hit as much area in that position then repeat 😊

@@Mobileblaster Thank you for your reply. There's never an easy solution to this sort of thing until someone comes up with an obvious one, but what that might be...... Do you wear a belt for your back in strained positions, or would that restrict movement too much - if you've tried one, that is ? Best regards

Brilliant job monetizing videos of getting paid to blast. I never met honest revenue I didn't like, and your vid gives prospective blasters an idea of what the gear can do. Viewers in the US should note if you want sufficient air and cannot get or don't wish to bleed money paying to run three phase to your house then be billed at commercial rates, you can do as I did. I had a new service installed for my shop (before building it so I'd have an outdoor service panel with 120 and 240v outdoor outlets) then powered my rotary phase converter (simple things you can build yourself, buy a kit and score your own motors, or buy used or new) off that then my two industrial compressors off the converter. Starting one at a time permits the first motor to support the second (when used for blasting, else I just run one) for even easier starting. I connect using red hose and Chicago couplings which is also how I plumbed my shop with no permanent pipe. I no longer rent but that's ideal for renters who wish to take their entire investment with them when they move. I do it for the gloriously easy install and reconfig, the hose rests in simple torch bent hooks on the wall of my steel building. The compressors are on rolling dollies with scaffolding casters because one key reason old men get less done is moving things for cleaning or to add or remove equipment is so difficult. Put the lot on wheels and it's very low effort. If you are adding power for an electric car charger you can run SOOW cord and twistlock connectors off that to get more use from the charger outlet. If you "wish" you had industrial equipment study a bit and you can buy good used gear for the price of offshore consumer junk. I have never cried myself to sleep over having better equipment than the minimum.
@Mobileblaster4 ай бұрын
If only it was worth the investment for the monetization if I put the hours into a minimum wage job I would be far better off I enjoy making the videos and it was the reason for me to continue to find work I was at a point that blasting wasn't for me untill I started youtube 😬 I'm sure everyone hits a point were they want to rag in 😂
