Hello Trainwreck people. Having grown up literally in Kenny’s basement, I can tell you for a fact that he did not like putting the bright switches in any of his amps. Matt is absolutely right when he says having anything in the chain with such a short signal path effects the tone. Kenny only put it in there, because the bulk of the players were using absolutely inferior Guitars with overwhelmed humbucker pick ups. Only a few of his clientele really had very dynamic, resident in open sound and Guitars and Pickups. Remember that it was the 80s and early 90s. Because Kenny’s face plates were already premade, when he built Expresses for me, they were dummy. When I sold them, he wired them back in. And I will tell you that it affected the sound. That’s why he absolutely refused to do this when he built me the rocket. I own Amanda. Matt you are brilliant!! Keep them coming brother.

This is, quite simply, one of the best guitar tones I've heard. I'm jealous

thank you my friend. Once I got hooked into these amps, speakers, cabinets & cables, that was it for me. Nothing else on earth makes me that happy. Glad you like the tone as much as I do. Thanks for watching

Wow . To hear these amps played without you on stage w a full backing band really focuses completely on the amps tone . You gotta love it . Me personally , I like the sound of the Mariana more. Has a beefier , more bluesy tone to me which is the kinda tone I really like. No doubt they both sound great , and in the right hands(yours ) they sound phenomenal. One day .

Both amps sound awesome!!! Funny how the chime clean doesn't stay intact when driven. Of course, could be lost in the translation ;) Just looking for some bite. Still killer.

yes, its there for sure when you're in the room with it. Not easy to capture over the internet. Thanks for watching.

Nice job! ... And beautiful amps. Keep the videos coming! Seems the top amp (vivica?) has a bit more top end and sizzle. Like a presence knob turned up. ;). A little more open and tighter low end. Might be the better match for me personally with a warm sounding guitar like a les Paul. With a strat or tele, the bottom amp might have the low end to fatten up a bit. (Then again, I like plenty of snap from my strats so... Lol, vivica might be just fine there too! ) I had the pleasure of playing thru billy gibbons and George lynch's trainwrecks at an amp show. Glorious stuff.

thanks man for the comments. Yes, hearing them in person is a whole other experience. Thanks for watching

I think Marina has a slightly bigger sound. Vivica has a touch more presence mids. Probably the bigger sound of Marina in person sounds louder as you say. Great amps both. I can't wait for the video comparing this girls to Prudence. Thanks!! Luis

Did you use effects on tour with Bon Jovi ? What did you find worked well with the Trainwreck amps ?
@MOBontv7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I didn't. My pedal board for the tour was only my 67 clyde vox wah and a keely modded 808. I used the keely here and there because I was on a wireless system. Those things really take away from the touch response of the amp so the 808 seemed to help during solos. On a big stage like that where everyone is on in ear monitors, its a whole other ball game. The wireless freedom was great, but there's always a compromise in tone. In that case, putting on a great show heavily out weighs tone. And I just hated to even type that last sentence. Haha

I don't think trainwreck and wireless is a good match...kinda like onions and chocolate. DON'T belong together. Putting the digital recreation of an analog signal inside s wreck? o Bueno!! :) Luis again...I think I talked about this topic with John... :)
@luisroy51227 жыл бұрын
couple typos there!! sorry! correcting.......inside a wreck? No Bueno!! :)

believe it or not, I was surprised it worked as well as it did with the amp. But again, at that level in front of 70k people, its all about the show.

I just bought a Ceriatone Trainwreck Expression ....killer tone . Going to try using a Fryette Power station, which has a loop in it to run some delay.

Vivica likes necking with Les, the midrange definition and sparkle stands out more. I expect Marina really digs cuddling with a Strat, slightly more compression and "top of the lower end of the midrange" pronunciation going on there. Both girls sing pretty!
@Jimmy_Cavallo7 жыл бұрын
Vivica seems cleaner and meaner and Marina seems more fazed and hazed, each one being appropriate for the right track and kind of like a comparo of your T/A to my Camaro. Each with their own unique level of badness. Cool series, Matt.

thanks so much. Ha comparo
