Here's a really scientifically interesting fun fact: "Compressed air" (aka "duster") is actually not air at all, it's one of a wide variety of refrigerants. Refrigerants are exceptionally interesting substances, chemically and physically, because of the entire refrigeration cycle they're an integral part of (but that's a whole other subject,) and the great thing about using them as "duster" products rather than plain old air is because air doesn't compress very much at all compared to refrigerants. Refrigerants can be compressed much further, and when you compress a refrigerant it turns to a liquid with a ton of potential energy when stored. When the liquid refrigerant is released from the can it immediately boils into a gas when it hits the air, expanding greatly, so not only is this gas propelled by the pressure of the can itself, but the expansion of the boiling process itself also increases the pressure even more to dust even better. Refrigerants are the absolute perfect substances to use for this kind of a dusting application because they're so relatively cheap, and because of how well they can be compressed and stored in cans, but if you want to hear something just almost mind blowing in terms of human discovery, look up the refrigeration cycle. The first refrigerants were stuff like hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC-22, a "CFC", which is a class of chemicals that deplete stratospheric ozone and are greenhouse gasses, but science is busy developing refrigerants that are environmentally friendly, which will be very interesting to see unfold. Under the Montreal Protocol, these early CFC-style refrigerants are already phased out or in the last stages of being phased out of use. The next round of replacements is hydrofluorocarbons, such as HFC-134a (CH2FCF3), in which hydrogen or fluorine has completely replaced chlorine. They are safe to use and don’t deplete the ozone layer, however, they're still greenhouse gasses relative to CO2, even if they have a low greenhouse impact compared to CO2 proper...

Same but i actually got into it sort of (i want to mod gameboys but have been doing gamecube controllers/keyboard mods). It's a fun hobby, and I really do reccommend ppl do it. It's a bit pricey for some mods (tho i'm a cheapskake who wont put serious money into his hobbies) but it's always rewarding to see that you've improved a system/thing or even repair it (if you know what to look for in broken systems). As a side note i also dont play GB/gamecube stuff really. it's just fun to do lol also i dont have that deskmat but it's cheap and heat resistant. I think just looking on amazon for "rubber desk mat" or "electronics desk mat" should bring up 20+ listings of the mat.
