Mode Sonnet | HMX Deep Navy | GMK Olive + Hibi

I really appreciate boards that can sound great without any mods. Gives you that flexibility and freedom. You can always add foams if you wish to have a different sound profile. But either way it would still sound good. Same as my other Mode keyboards, this screams premium and aesthetically pleasing. They knocked it out of the park with the case color and gold accent. I just can't stop staring and admiring this board lol. Glad to have this in the roster.

Kinda bummed but they offered me a good discount so I am happy with it. I see that the new sonnet adapts the lattice block mounting. We shall see! What's your favorite board right now?

Flavor of the week I like that. I agree it changes rapidly. Yesterday, I like a deep thocky board and today I like it high pitched clacky. Oh man this hobby is driving me crazy lol I guess recency bias with this and the loop TKL, but my go to board I would say is still the QK75N.

Yes same! I have never changed the config of the qk75n ever since. Just swapping keycaps every now and then. I like having best of both worlds - thock and clack.

I'm quite curious how the board would sound if every key were one of those alu artisans like you have on enter and f13. They sounded interesting 🤔

I am thinking it would not be my favorite. Tbh, they sound awful LOL they're my first alu artisans and prolly my last. It's purely aesthetics.

How do you like this compared to the Neo80? I'm considering buying the updated Sonnet when they release it next month

I have tried a couple of builds for the Neo80. It would be unfair for the Sonnet because I just got it a few days ago. But here are my thoughts (foamless config): Neo80 - [ ] Way much easier to build - [ ] Softer typing feel (gasket dumbell mount) - [ ] Sounds better Sonnet - [ ] More aesthetically pleasing - [ ] Isolated top mount feels a little stiff compared to lattice - [ ] Sounds hollow with some switches You should definitely get the new Sonnet. The lattice block mount is really something. I see you have an Envoy and you know what I’m talking about. I have the Loop and Envoy and I enjoy typing on them.

@@DadTech1981 Hot damn. I'm in the market for a 75% so I was eyeing the sonnet but Wuque Studio x Chilkey released the ND75 which seems like such a banger for a price point below $100. I just ordered one 🤐. So much for the sonnet xD

@@0xBULLgogi yeah I can’t blame you price was really tempting. Last night I was about to pull the trigger too for the MKC75 but none of the colors caught my attention. The orange perhaps but was sold out.
