It's underrated for a reason - tighter pellet spread correlates with damage range, so you can challenge longer ranges with a shotgun instead of being handicapped to short range. You should be landing all of your shots close range regardless, so wider spread is unnecessary

Personally, I think the choke's the best muzzle attachment. Yes, it may not boost your 1 hit kill range as much as the Marauder, but the much tighter ads pellet spread allows for much more consistent 1 hit kills at range. And imo, consistency is more important than potential when it comes to pump action shotguns.

I run sport barrel, no stock, truegrip, marauder suppressor, and tac laser laser. I think it's the most range you can get out of a traditional shotgun outside of the pre patch 725.

In my experience, Dragon’s Breath is excellent in Warzone on this and the VLK. It puts enemies in a panic and gives you ample time to push while they try to heal with DOT ticking their armor away.

use frangible disabling rounds on it too. it slighty stuns them and if 1 pellet hits their legs they cant run away. ultimate panic class.

The swat barrel with the marauder gets a 15 one shot with a decent ads time overall so Id recommend trying it for you rushers out there!

@@Hitscanister yup! Its good and I would always run it with the choke. Another neat class is using the 6 round mag with the suppressor as well. It gets basically the same range as the liberator barrel with the marauder but with a faster ads time. Only downside is slower movement speed.

Shotguns are my favourite kind of weapons. I'm an up close and personal kind of gamer. I only play Plunder though. It's ridiculous that I need 2 shots of sawed off 725 to down a guy and then another 2 while he's on the ground. I'm very happy you are making this guides because I was waiting for the shotguns.

My go to setup is the 30' barrel with the ft marauder, the 5mw laser, no stock and sleight of hand. This allows for good engagements up close to mid range because the hip fire is so accurate and the pellet spread is so tight. This setup also allows for really long range one shots, I think 24m is what Ace said.

I build my Model 680 almost like most "pros" do with their ARs. I typically run the long sport barrel, no stock, tac laser, truegrip, with the last attachment being up to you (I typically use either dragon's breath or the marauder suppressor). It's overall a pretty consistent gun and ticks off 725 users.

As a new comer to the cod franchise, being a long term battlefield player since 2011. Your channel has helped me so much to understand the mechanics of MW. So thank you!! Had to walk away from BFV after giving it too many chances to really win me back and impress me. I just wasn't having fun or having ANYTHING to grind that was worth it. I never thought I'd say this but I'm absolutely loving COD right now. I can't believe the difference in how much you are able to do in this game. Always so much to work towards to. My strategy for headshots I developed from CoD WW2 and this game is to try to go for longshots in hardcore. If you're outside of the shotgun's 1 shot kill range, the only thing capable giving you the kill is a headshot.

It’s worth noting and is especially relevant for shotguns that a reduction in the radius of spread (whether that be from the barrels, 5mW laser while not ADS, etc.) actually gives you an exponential benefit relative to the original radius. For example, a 50% smaller radius while ADS will lead to 1/4 as much potential area for the pellets to land. This applies to all the attachments where a radius reduction was used.

Wow, that's pretty interesting how the damage works. I'd like to have you take a look at the VLK Rogue next, the recent addition of dragon's breath rounds was a massive buff to it. I've gotten one shot kills with it out to about 10-15m when it used to be only 5-6m, and it's super strong in Warzone too because of the burn damage and the insane movement stats of the VLK.

Always use the Truegrip over the Merc Foregrip, it reduces 1 more frame of ADS time than the Merc and there is less movement speed penalty on the Truegrip, there is absolutely no reason to run the Merc Foregrip over the Truegrip at all, Xclusiveace always leave out some gun specific attachment from time to time and I don't know why (he left out the snatch foregrip on the PKM episode) also he didn't mention the no stock in this video despite it being one of the most important attachments on this gun (I'm aware he made a video about stocks, but it'd be nice to have all the information that you need about one gun in the same video)

Bro I got gold for this shotgun and it’s amazing and one of my favorite shotguns in the game. I literally one shot people across the map in search and destroy and the range on this shotgun is amazing. It just impresses me how this shotgun can 1 shot at extreme ranges for a shotgun. Wider pellet spread is a pro because when you are up real close it is forgiving to miss a few pellets. If you are using a long barrel with a tight pellet spread then it is possible to miss someone completely who is right in front of you because the pellets are so tight. A wider pellet spread gives the player room for error. You cover a bigger area with a wider spread which is good up close.

I got gold on this Shotty last night...used your first setup and I kid you not, I got 2 shot kills from the top of the tower in Rust to enemies standing in the corner of the map, 1 shot killing enemies in Shipment and Shoothouse is great fun...the range is on this weapon is insane! @@chrisdaniel1998 Yes I know that, but in order for it to work you'll need to make the crosshairs much wider otherwise you can get a merc grip + 5mw laser and 1 hit people without having to ADS. The Spas-12 from Modern Warfare 2 for example worked like that, it could always 1 hit kill people given you have them within your crosshairs and they were within range of the gun. It works like that in a lot of games, and it makes the most sense but balance wise causes some issues sometimes

The wider pellet spread is a pro if you want it to be though! Means you can be less on target to get a hit. I often run the SWAT barrel as a sidearm. I often find that with my Sport + Marauder combo I have to be SPOT on within a closer range.

As someone who has a platinum 680, I find that the FT marauder, the 30 inch barrel, the 5mw lazer, the true-grip tactical, and dragons breath is an incredible set up. Especially in hardcore.

Just a note about slugs - Don't use the FTac Marauder muzzle - use a choke. The FTM doesn't affect slugs for some reason, but the choke does. Oh and Dragon's Breath rounds, I believe, have an interesting interaction with Warzone armor. Not 100% sure on that, though. (I think, don't quote me, that any hit can strip most armor)

If you're testing shotguns, you should show one shot kill range for both hipfire and ADS. most shotguns are used hipfire only, and so it's very important to know this range. For example, choke actually grants better one shot kill range than forge tac Marauder for this gun since the choke tightens the hipfire more than the forge tac. The forge tac is only better for ADS playstyles.

I definitely used the super shorty barrel with no stock and it's really not as bad as the stats would have you think. It's easier to get close to people and your ADS time (I would say the biggest drawback of the 680) is insane. For the rest of the build I think I used the choke, sleight of hand, and a laser. I've done quite well with it in shoot house. You really want to attempt to ADS with it outside of pointblank though. Not that I knew it at the time, but I think the choke works best here because even though it doesn't extend range as much, it gives a tighter grouping which means more consistency inside the effective range.

Slugs are best ond 725 with sniperscope (cause you can hold breath), Tac Laser, longest barrel and the muzzle, which reduces spread (makes the slug somehow more precise). Its like a trollsniper with oneshot at the whole body but with shorter range and long bullettravel and drop ^^ But works well in 6v6 or 2v2 maps

It does make hip firing at really close range a bit more forgiving. Sometimes having a tight spread can make those really close up shots hard to make. I enjoy using it when all I want from my shotgun is an emergency super close range gun

Ace you should add stopping power rounds to this video. With stopping power you can get one hits at basically every range you can deal damage at which is why i run my 680 with tune up and stopping power. 8 rounds of 30m one hits basically. Pretty OP. Most of the time you will get stopping power back before you used all 8 rounds.

@xclusiveace please do a quick guide on snapshot and decoy grenades for war zone. Are they useful? Does the snapshot cover 1st and 2nd floor when activated? The decoy makes a weird fire sound, is that what the enemy hears? So many questions...

Snapshots are underrated in Warzone and in my experience they do though through a 1st and 2nd floor. The decoy is underrated but I feel only useful in Solos.

Not sure if your range values are for hip fire or ADS, but I got slightly longer results when I tested ADS. SWAT 11-12m (varies). Normal barrel 14m. Liberator 16m. Sport 17m. Great video though! Been waiting for you to cover shotguns for a long time. Lot of good info here.

Model 680 with dragon breth in warzone is really good cus it demolishes shields and does some health damage and if u have amped u can switch to an SMG or ar and finish them off.

Absolutely my favourite shotgun. Hate the 725's limited capacity, R9-0 isn't bad but feels awkward to me to use. Other shotguns are kinda a joke. Once you get the good attachments for the 680 its a monster, but man that first 20-30 levels of the grind can be painful at times.

One big problem I have here with your Slug round testing Ace, Slugs were buffed in that Choke attachments improve it's accuracy and results in better ranged shots. You used the Marauder which counts as a Suppressor, yes it tightens pellet spread but in game it's not considered a Choke attachment

I think we also need a one-shot potential range of hip fire and how those attachments have effects on it, especially for some shotguns like the Origin-12 or R9-0. I barely ADS with those guns.

Slugs should be one hit kill from any range. A .70 caliber, 1 to 1 1/2 Oz projectile won't exactly tickle.

Great timing. I literally just started shotguns, and this gun specifically, yesterday for my Damascus. I did all the hard shit first. Only have shottys, ars, and subs left.

i'm done, and i'm sorry, but: ar are the hardest. yes they are ez to use & powerfull. but they take so much time, thanks to the 800 kills and other high numbers for the different challenges (compared to all the other gunclasses) :)

If your playstyle is to ADS on longshots, I’d go with choke. If you wanna hipfire it, pick the Marauder.

Ace, the wider pellet spread is listed as a positive on the SWAT barrel because of the dragon's breath rounds. They intend for you to use them together in an ADS run n' gun style close range build. The idea is to play aggressively, bursting through doors and sliding around corners like you have an SMG, with the wider pellet spread and incendiary damage granting you some forgiveness if your aim is off. It also allows you to hit two enemies at once if you enter a room and find yourself outnumbered. Still not as good in those "oh $%&!" moments as the akimbo snake shots, though.

CHOKE > MARAUDER. The choke seems to get more one-shot kills in up close engagements where you have to hip fire. Also at range, the choke seems to get less hit markers. Also, for whatever reason the Marauder seems to have lower bullet velocity which I don’t like. You also move faster with the choke compared to the marauder.

Hey, Ace, could next time when you show spread patterns for the shotguns, is it possible for you to show multiple shots superimposed on each other so that we can have a better idea of the average spread? I am certainly not as good at this as you are, but it might be worthwhile to see. The 680 is one of my favorite guns in the game because of its versatility in being a jack-of-all-trades (but master of none) sort of thing. I love using the sleight of hand perk, and its really cool to know just how much faster the reload is with it compared to the vanilla reload! Thank you so much for this information!

If you're interested in that, there's a channel called egloomtaf and he does that in his shotgun guides. I like his videos because he covers every attachment that matters and just skips the ones that don't (for instance aiming stability attachments on a shotgun)

It may not be the statistically best shotgun for warzone, but with the Dragons breath and a ranged build, and good cover, you can 2 shout people at pretty stupid ranges! Worth a try if you like shotguns!

The Model 680 is my second favorite shotgun cuz the dragon's breath rounds are solid where the 725 which is my favorite one in the game doesn't have it.

Based off what I watched: My build would be this: Choke; Sport barrel; 5mW laser; No stock; Dragon’s Breath rounds. (though I could swap the Dragon’s Breath for Sleight of Hand)

The Model 680 is a god-like close range gun against campers in Warzone with the Dragon's Breath rounds when peaking and shooting like shoot, get to cover then peak and shoot again.

DB 6-R mags + FT Maurader feels broken. Tac laser + No Stock + Merc Foregrip rounds out a fast and accurate build. Been getting way more kills that I expected with a shot gun on larger maps.
