Hi Björn, the legal "warranty" is called: "(defects) liability". We have something similar in Germany ("Gewährleistung"). Cheers, Daniel
@DerKatzeSonne6 жыл бұрын
I think it is funny that the norwegian word for this sound similar to the pronunciation of the German word "Reklamation" which means something like "complaint" or "claim" ^^ (problem with "Gewährleistung" though is that it is covered by the seller, not the maker. However, that should normally the same for Teslas...?
@ScheeDa686 жыл бұрын
katze_sonne "Reklamieren" (claim the seller's legal defect liability) is what a customer has to do towards the seller. Warranty is a voluntarily offered service of the OEM (manufacturer) whilst liability is a legal obligation of the seller as the one having a contract with the buyer. So sellers normally either agree warranty extensions with the OEMs or have liability insurances to cover the risk of defect liability.
@FFVoyager6 жыл бұрын
In the UK we have a similar law - the Consumer Rights Act.
@Soordhin6 жыл бұрын
I believe in the EU countries it is a EU requirement to have at least 2 years of defects liability by law. In Norway (as a non-EU country) it might be part of the stuff they have to implement based on single market regulations. But if Bjorn is right and it goes to five years it is considerably better than the EU minimum.
@fersunk6 жыл бұрын
katze_sonne funny enough, "Reklamation" reminds me a lot about "Reclamación" un Spanish, and actually means the same (claim)
@gregandkaruna66746 жыл бұрын
We have a similar law here in New Zealand, it's called Consumer guarantee act, we have had it for many years now, and still many retailers try to get around the law even trying to sell mostly unnecessary extended warranties, occasionally the companies get fined.

Here in Brazil we have a Consumer Protection Code (CDC - Código de Defesa do Consumidor) which applies 2 direct things: For durable objects which should last for long time, we (consumers) have the right of AT LEAST 90 days of warranty, no matter what. For the rest, we have AT LEAST 30 days of warranty. And one good thing that we have which is pretty cool: For objects bought without buying directly from a physical store (like Internet, Telemarketing Phone...) we have 7 days to return, "no question asked". But if you go directly to a physical store and buy directly from there, you can't return it (actually you can if the store allows you to do it, but they do not have to give you the money back, they usually give you a credit so you can expend the money there). So at least for small objects it works pretty well (like smartphones, home electronics...). But for cars for example, only the factory warranty is considered =/.

Kunchography What! I hate you guys our limit was around NZ$400 before being charged GST and security import duties. Oh but ours is still in place, so that's a bonus for us :-) However I would be happy to pay the 15% as its still a lot cheaper for most things and far more selection that's what's available here.

I have also a 6-year-old Toyota Prius plug-in which too had only one problem with the charger.

I would like to see what happens when Pavel or Jorgen go to the service center with an issue. Do you know if they have had this kind of treatment with their issues? You talked a little bit about that on the muckbang with Jorgen and he said that he felt that they were really quick, but a video about it would be awesome!.

I don't think so. Last time my car was at the service center for two months.

I think that because it was a safety issue and it seems it's a cheap, easy to change part that they had in stock, there was no problem with fixing it fast. Probably them easily giving in to his demand to fix it for free could have been because they knew who he was though.
@bjornnyland6 жыл бұрын
It's funny that in the previous video where I showed that my car was in the service center for two months waiting for parts, some people were complaining at I shouldn't have to wait too long since I give Tesla a lot of free PR. In Teslas defense, if it were for instance a BMW or Mercedes EV and the cars went through offroading and tug of wars with online proof, those cars would never ever see warranty again. 3 months for an appointment? Wow man, they got to increase their capacities fast, especially thinking of the Model 3. But -about 250€- 30€ for fixing the air suspension? Well that seems -quite ok- quite cheap (I'm quite sceptical about air suspension in general... have you ever looked at the electronic connectors? They are freaking fragile and exposed to the outside... ok, only seen them on Mercedes yet, but I guess that Tesla will use similar parts here). To be honest, I'm not very surprised to hear that your air suspension failed somehow. (the thing about the back camera: sure that should not be billed without telling you first about the repair cost and also it's no wearing part, so no reason why it should be excluded from warranty / "Gewährleistung" / whatever it's called in Norway)
@bjornnyland6 жыл бұрын
No, the fix for air suspension was 290 NOK/€30 only. I mentioned two burgers. Did you skip through that part?
@DerKatzeSonne6 жыл бұрын
Oh shieeet ;) actually I watched the whole video, I can even remember the part where you compared it to 2 burgers (I thought you where being ironic and making fun of stuff being very expensive in Norway...). I have no idea where the 250€ came from which I understood (to my defense: English isn't my mother tongue either :/ ). Must have misunderstood something, watched that specific part of the video over and over again, cannot figure out, how I failed to understand the number correctly. 30€ sounds crazyly cheap to fix a broken air suspension, that must have been something really easy to fix. (I've been once working at Mercedes as a student's holiday job and seriously, I didn't trust these air suspension connectors at all; if one in your (whoever is reading this) Mercedes fails, it's probably my fault ;) or the fault of these connectors being too fragile... they sometimes even broke plugging them in the first time -.-) EDIT: fixed my first comment
