Shadow Spectres are a huge blow to Aeldari's identity and maybe the biggest blow out of all miniature removals ever. Aspect Warriors are the heart of an Aeldari army and very central to their identity. Let's hope for a plastic kit that includes the Phoenix Lord as an alternate build option. They should do this with all Aspect Warriors as it seems they have huge trouble maintaining the character models for Aeldari as well. I still have the Codex with Nuadhu Fireheart (Saim-Hann leader) and Iyanna Arienal (Iyanden leader) who never even got models :D

I’m considering returning to 40k since my middle school days… that was when 3rd edition was the game. What factions/subfactions seem to stand the test of time in terms of game rules? I don’t mean the meta, I mean, not having units or weapons deleted from the game or have rules make your army not legal? I’d like anything I build to have more likelihood of still being legal for 11th edition and beyond

The core of the major factions has endured pretty well, except for (ironically) Space Marines. In the case of Eldar, it wasn’t just the same units, but in many cases the same exact models, that are still around from the old days. I think we’re in a period where they are reorganizing their ranges and finally retiring all the Finecast. I don’t expect as much radical change to happen over the next few editions once this process is done.

I'm new to warhammer 40k from a table top perspective. Decided to go with guard. Tank guard. I wanted a few malcador (plus variants), a macharius, and Krieg boys (vraks is epic. But at the time that was way to expensive. Now I guess I'm not gonna be able to get most of that stuff. I'm gonna try to get a macharius at least for my collection. But I missed out on the malcador defender. I'm just very demoralized, most of the models I was planning to get tank wise are gone now. I've got a bunch of cadian inf, some Krieg inf, a leman russ, a chimera, and a crassus armoured transport (loved painting that one Cool project) and I'm wondering if I should even Continue the hobby. Been thinking about jumping old world as I've loved fantasy since I was in high school or bolt action simce I love history. Idk.

The jump packs season of Kill Team is not happening. Valrak was wrong about that. Only one half of Hivestorm can actually fly & that’s balanced by them being glass cannons. Flying is very OP in Kill Team - they’re not going to throw 4-6 new teams of flyers into the mix because it would utterly destroy game balance.

@@dilbob454 only if you play competitive games or mostly pick-up games with strangers. If you have a regular play group then I am sure you can get them to agree to the legends rules for now. When 11th comes along you may need to get creative but it shouldn't be too hard to create your own rules for it, and if you have friends with their own forge world units it should be easy to reach a reciprocal agreement. Just remember: these are your toys, and GW can only tell you how to play with them if you let them.

The crappy stat lines for Eldar infantry is because GW can't write rules for shit and 10th is a radioactive garbage fire. I very strongly suspect that Jain Zar and Maugan Ra will still be available as they have new sculpts, the others have been removed because they are releasing new models for them with the new wave of Eldar releases in 2025 . . . allegedly except for Karandras, because the rumour is they actually forgot him. Which does kind of sum up how GW treat Eldar in general.

Had a look and Sly Marbo is still there, although it is temporary out of stock. Ratlings might still be there due to a Rumor Valrak heard that one of the kill team box sets will be Ratling and Ogryns vs.... I can't remember. 🤣 But that might be why they are still there, for now.

Yeah space marines get brand new models and next update eldar and non power armor units lose a huge number of the units from their ranges instead of coming out with new models for them well I hope people like only playing against other space marines cuz as an eldar only player I’m pretty much done with GW don’t care if they update the rest of the Eldar range anymore I’m putting my money somewhere else

Space Marines and Chaos Marines lost more models at the start of 10th than all other factions combined, stop whining you will get a plastic upgrade for most if not all of your models. Marines on the other hand will never be able to use HH units ever again

@@Trinine9 Harlequins will have a detachment in the new codex. Currently you can run a full harlequin army. Also yeah blood angels are space marines but I think that guy meant generic space marines not chapter specific.

Do you know what the harlequins do on tabletop what they used to do what they removed from them. Yeah there is no detachment that they could put into the game that would ever make thwm playable in a detachment is not a codex of which they used to have you cannot run a harlequin army you can run a craftworld army with only Harlequin units in it which are overpriced and frankly bad units in general GW just wanted to remove the harlequins from the game so they did not have to balance them and could instead focus on yet more space marine releases, End of story.

It's a shame about Straken and Harker, those were two of the better Catachan minis. Let's hope they get the same level of attention Krieg are getting at a later date. Titus is a weird one because he seems such an obvious choice for an Epic Hero, and yet since his wargear changes so much throughout the game it'd be tricky to give him decent rules. You'd probably just have to give him a basic HBP and chainsword but then make all his attacks Lethal and/or Devastating. It might be amusing to give him a rule where if he attacks a model that's on it's Damaged profile or down to 1W he just automatically kills it in melee and then recovers any lost Wounds...

@@Pikilloification I’ve noticed a strange mentality amongst players that they aren’t allowed to do anything unless it’s sanctioned by GW. Can’t use old models, can’t use old rules, etc. It’s especially strange as someone coming from Yugioh where people are, to this day, playing and enjoying a 20 year old format.

Me and a couple friends play old 40k together but no one at my LGS and half of my 40k friend group have no interest in playing rules that aren't the newest. Along with this, it is a lot of fun to play at events and tournaments which, unless you have a crazy good community, are always going to be the new rules.
