Wolfy, Nightshade does 200 when unpowered. It only does 100 when powered, that's the tradeoff for rechargability and range. Explorer just has 250 health so it seemed like it wasn't doing anything. Also, Shadow-shroom when powered makes it so nearby zombies are poisoned, too. It also ignores armor. In general, Shadow is a great plant even without Moonflower and can be an alternative to Chili Bean/Potato Mine

The shadow plants after Nightshade are actually great. Shadow Shroom's poison goes through armor, so high armored zombies will just get melted by it, but high health zombies largely unaffected, because of its maximum 900 damage at level 1. Shadow Shroom's pf effect is op, so abuse it for an easy board wipe against most zombies.

Part 2 gets much better. Grimrose and Dusk Lobber are much better shadow plants. Also Shadow Shroom actually hurts zombies through any armor they are wearing and that would have to usually be removed. It's poison is the only way to kill Newspaper Zombies without pissing them off. Oh yeah and Pylon Mechs just eat through Garlic without giving a shit.

shadow shroom's main gimmick is that his poisong damages zombies *directly* in other words, they ignore armor, such as buckets, news papers, etc, he's honestly pretty useful, iirc the thing that happens when he's boosted is that poisoned zombies can "infect" nearby zombies with poison too, and his pf can clear out entire waves by sheer virtue that if it poisons an entire wave of bucketheads, they all die pretty much instantly

Shadow-Shroom is underrated, his poison ignores shielding items like buckets and cones meaning he can take out a knight and a basic zombie both at the same time, it has genuinely strong plant food that can take out a field full of knights in a few seconds

the best shadow plants are the last two: dusk lobber and grimrose, dusklober does decent damage across 3 lanes and grimrose insta-kills 3 zombies in its lane before fading

Quick tip for ya wolfy: dusk lobber is in my opinion the best (free) shadow plant due to its power. It’s good on it’s own but it gets even better when powered (which is of course why it’s one of the last ones you get)

Trust me when you get dusk lobbers, they become your main source of damage, especially powered. They are REALLY REALLY good on most levels in Modern Day, and when they level up they become broken at level 3 Also a bit of advice, almost always carry the four leaved blover, it's much more helpful than it seems

Wolfy, shadow shroom is really efficient and cheap way to kill a single high armored zombie (excluding mechs it takes longer to kill them) and since it needs to be eaten to activate it doesn’t normally work on gargs unless you plant food. Empowered plant food on shadow shroom can kill waves all the weak stuff in a wave super fast so you can focus on the heavy hitters. If used right can carry you easily through modern day just place it in the middle lane closest to the lawnmower empowered save your play food for that and it’s an easy sweep to the boss guaranteed. Oh and p.s. nightshade is trash just forget it ever existed.

The game doesn't do a good job conveying its powered effect because the zombie has to be insane close to the other to spread the poison so it's barely noticeable. Even if you try to use Hurrikale the poisoned zombie should be a bulkier one like a Bully as regular zombies usually die before touching another zombie if its behind them.

The thing that makes that worse is that a conceal mint does a better job at well... Concealing better than grim rose, and that's it's job. When u plant food it all it does for me is just conceals one zombie that is one the lawn

Dusk lobber is kinda gonna be your best friend. So don't expect grimrose to be that exciting when you test it out. Cause literally all it's doing is just sending zombies to the shadow realm at snail pase

I'm surprised he got through level 9 with level one plants with only one death. That level's one of the hardest ones in the world. He also beat THE hardest level in the world, day 12, with no fails thanks to his ridiculously high-level plants. If Wolfy had of played this game before the power plants update, we would've gotten a *very* different series. One with a lot more raging.

Shadow shroom is pretty bad It’s shadow power makes the poison spread (at least I think so) but that’s not very good because that would mean you would have to have a shadow flower planted high up the field It’s main upside is that it’s plant food is cracked, and can basically act like a slower doom shroom

Shadow shroom is godlike. It's poison goes through armor, and even if it isn't worth it most of the time to power it, using a knockback like Hurricale to spread it over the entire lane is just makes it a faster cooldown Jalapeño, with a DoT instead of an instant burst.

He's a good plant, but he's outclassed by the Goo Peashooter. You're right on how using his powered form is tricky since he's a melee plant and Moonflowers usually are at the back (see also: Murkadamia Nut), but I just use him unpowered most of the time. Ditto to Grimrose

Here’s my quick synopsis on the Shadow Plants. Moonflower, amazing sun producer and allows the shadow plants to really shine. Nightshade, decent plant that gets weaker when powered but can recharge and fire from distance, overall decent but not amazing. Shadow Shroom, poisons a zombie that touches it and when powered it poisons zombies in an area. The poison bypasses armor (buckets, cones and the like) but for the powered effect it needs to be near a Moonflower but then it’s at the back of your defenses so overall not that good but can be used if you can poison a big threat the moment it comes out. Dusk Lobber, really good pult style plant that when powered can throw into the lanes beside it and is overall a really solid plant. Grimrose, insta kills the first zombie in its lane and then leaves but when powered can kill 3 zombies before leaving (gargs will eat up 2 of the charges but that means it can kill a Garg and still have a charge left when powered) making Grimrose one of the most clutch plants in the game.

In case, Wolfy is still checking comments... If u get on a don't let the zombies trample the flowers level and the flowers are on a lane instead of in-between, u can use spikeweed or spikerock. Beware of Gargantuars tho cause Spikerock cost so much sun when it's not leveled up a bunch, not to mention they take 3 hits to kill

Moonflower is one of the best Sun producers for sure, the amount of sun it can give you is ludicrous, which given your love for Magnifying Grass should make it quite an appealing choice. Nightshade is strong but only when powered, making it very reliable on Moonflower and somewhat limiting how you can plant it, basically powerful but not very flexible Shadow-Shroom is actually an incredible plant against things like Newspaper, Knights, etc. as it ignores armor completely, and it's plant food poisons the whole lawn

Shadow shrooms is pretty good as the poison ignores armor (i.e: It will kill a Buckethead in the same time as it would kill basic zombie as it ignores armor) I recommend planting it Infront of the first zombie or two that's comes to stall for sun. Also it's plant food is cracked. Hope this helps

So for the final boss there is 3 levels. First 2 are the preset for everyone and the third one iš abramdom boss with random plants. Also you can replay last levels and it will be different boss and plants.

here are all the shadow plants, what they do, and the best way to use them: moonflower: mainly support, boosting shadow plants. literally that's it (plant food gives a shield, and around 150 sun) nightshade: weak when unpowered, hits 3 times but indefinite hits when powered. usually good when alternating between it and moonflower (plant food boosts main attack and attacks 3 times) shadow shroom: poisons zombies that eats it. goes through armor. used for enemies like pyramid heads, knights, and brick heads (all are the same) (plant food poisons every enemy on screen) dusk lobber: your repeater torchwood with moonflower. lobs 1 bomb that spreads in an area when hitting, when powered lobs 3 bombs. spammable cost of 150 and not bad recharge. aims at 3 lanes when powered (plant food lobs 3 giant dusks that deal more damage than the normal, exploding in a 3x3 area) grimrose: ohko a normal zombie close to it, or deals heavy damage. can hit 3 when boosted (plant food gives it 3 free uses before continuing the counter) PREMIUM SHADOW PLANTS shadow pea: can fire off a ball of shadow. fires a shadow laser when boosted (plant food throws a bomb that explodes in a 3x3 area, or a shadow nuke that deals heavy damage to all zombies on screen) gloomvine: gloom shroom that boosts shadow plants placed on top it. (plant food just attacks very fast for a short period of time) noctarine: creates an explosion of gas that damages zombies (cannot be plant food-ed or boosted)

Moonflower actually produces the most sun of any sun plant when fully powered up (adjacent to 3 other shadow plants) for only 50 sun each. She has a slow recharge and a not so great plant food effect though so primal sunflower is sometimes better

Hello just wanted to say that nightshade actually deals more damage when its not powered up by moonflower but the catch is it wont regenerate projectiles.

Shadow shroom only affects one zombie, but if its in moonflowr's radius the poison will spread to nearby zombies kind of like the lighting reed

There’s an upcoming level with flowers quite close to the front but planting celery stalkers over the flowers actually prevents zombies trampling them
