Premier Outdoor Living, the day I posted this, I wasn’t too happy later that night lol. I’m outside of Mullica Hill in south Jersey and when I went outside to take the dog at 1am it was down to 45. Depressing lol. Can’t wait for the next video. Loving this

I've watched most of your videos and was wondering if you have a video detailing how you frame the wall beneath the deck to enclose it. From what I can tell is the verticals are 4 x 4 notched at the rim joist and the horizontals near the ground are 2 x 4

I like the idea of notching the joists. I would be concerned that my local inspectors will say its not a 2x10 anymore though. Are you oversizing the joists or anything to appease the inspectors?
@THEpremieroutdoor4 жыл бұрын
Nah we haven’t had an issue with it, but we’re really just taking a quarter inch off essentially

Sean, this looks like another great deck in the making. Those yards in NJ are like mini soccer fields. What township is that? Do you sub out the helical piers and does that work with most soil types?

I want to build my own deck and I would like to know what those things are called the posts sit on that are in the ground and swivel? I know you have said it in other videos but can’t find it again.

Questions, How come you don't take off the sod form underneath of the decks and no weed mat laid out? When is it necessary to do these steps?
@THEpremieroutdoor4 жыл бұрын
That’s only necessary on a deck that is very low to the ground
@jons70544 жыл бұрын
Didn't you use the Ziplevel to get the 6x6's at the exact right height? I'm not following why you had to notch the underside of the joists if you could get the post perfectly measured, you knew the beam height, and you knew the joist height... then no adjustment should be needed?
@trevoraboussafy69004 жыл бұрын
2x10 can vary in height from 9-1/4 to 9-1/2
@THEpremieroutdoor4 жыл бұрын
Yup what trevor said, the lumber will vary quite a bit and if you put a 9.5 next to a 9.25 joist you will see a significant wave
@goddi24 жыл бұрын
Ok...You measured and cut each joist to 9" to sit on the beam. How do you insure the beam is flat so all the joists sit flat on the beam? Can't the beam be crowned?
