The concealed bathroom is a really cool idea. But I just wish the composting toilet was not so close to my clean clothing!
@AmandaComeauCreates7 жыл бұрын
Sami Safiullah I thought that was odd too. I wonder if a composting toilet with vent could have been accommodated within the 5x7 space across from the shower where the table is stored.

A very smart idea ! Seems strange at first ,but I KNOW the composting toilets have no odor to smell up the clothing ! So I would do it too !
@TMIDiva7 жыл бұрын
THAT was the first thing I noticed! It'd be like having a bowel movement in your closet. And the other aspect is that you are less than 5 feet from the kitchen, with no defined ceiling ....a long way from a window or any discernable exhaust fan. Some people might shrug, no big deal. I'm really not interested in smelling feces while I cook. Particularly if it isn't my own.

This is a very attractive tiny house. The design concept of using doors to turn a corridor into a room is a brilliant concept. Doing that for a washroom might not be perfect for everyone, but the concept could be used to create a second bedroom or office. The finishes are also really nice. I am pleased to be introduced to Ma Maison Logique, and am grateful for the subtitles in English!

Me too. This is saved as my absolute favorite tiny house. Dry toilet is no problem (some friends have them and it really is OK). But the location of the clothes vs cleaning stuff needs to be switched.

Fantastic space!! I like how you use the storage drawers on the bench to support the bed that is very clever. Also being able to dangle you feet of the bed is a nice luxury in a tiny house loft. This house is beautiful and cleverly designed. This video is also beautifully done! I think the slide-out toilet is still a great idea for space efficiency, but this is where I would definitely find the extra funds to install a composting toilet that has an exhaust fan connected to the unit and where there is a separate tank for #1 and #2, like the Nature's Head or Seperet (not sure on spelling). A further step but keeping within the same design concept, would be to place this in the utility closet versus the clothes closet. Otherwise, c'est fantastique! :)

@darklittlepeople7 жыл бұрын
well, i found the previous comments to be a very interesting read ! :D about the toilet/shower situation : if it's true that composting toilets don't smell in the first place, they shouldn't smell in the closet either. i have watched the beginning of the video in slow motion to figure out the placement of the ladder when pulled out vs the toilet and the shower - you should be able to use both (even though the access is a little tricky) with the ladder pulled out. for the night, you could totally have the doors opened in bathroom formation and leave it like that, with the toilet pulled out and ready to use, - duh ! (sorry about the "duh !", just couldn't resist). personally, i'm less convinced by the enjoying all the shower/poop vapors elevating to your pillow, and also why climb up over the pillows. not very logical for their maison logique. so, i would just put the pillows on the other side - here comes another duh! :o) also, i would need some type of railing to prevent me from punching the pillow off the loft and possibly diving after it as well. all in all, lots of interesting ideas in this tiny house, would probably tweak something, and i love the table !!! very cool table, seems easy to manipulate. oh, and being french, i love hearing quebecers speak, but i'm usually very grateful for subtitles. some of their vocabulary is very archaic, that's super cool, - like french frozen in time and then pronounced funny. i do love you quebec, no offense ! XD

My thoughts, also. Way too many things to do just to pee, too. Open this, slide tht, lift this, move that. i want to open the door, lift the lid, pull down the pants, and go without suddenly seeing that I forgot to open the shower cupboard to block the window.

Small house it's not always cheap house. Because many unique solutions demand high skills. If you can build simple house with your own hands and buy standard furniture. It will be cheap. Your work and simplicity saves the budget and increases the possible size of the house

Impressive innovation, but remember, "if it moves it will break" so the hidden ladder moves and is attached to something that moves. One of these things is going to break faster than a ladder attached to a fixed point. Also, if your guest wants to use the shower while you sleep, you have to evacuate through the kitchen? (I think extracting and extending the ladder from above might be hard.) What I loved is your accent. Minion. Merqi.

Im actually toying with the idea of having a tiny 4x4 foot trailer with a shower and toilet in it built totally separate from my 8x12 tiny house. This would free up living space and keep all toileting away from my general living quarters. I like the idea of keeping poop in a completely different place. Or simply carrying the bucket toilet outside after each use to let it compost outdoors.
