The provided link is more expensive than going directly to Amazon.

Amazon changes prices on a daily basis. It was $135 only 2 days ago and now it's higher. By next week it will probably be down again. That's the way Amazon works. Also, I always provide the link that I used to get the product. Other links will be different than what I experienced so I cannot vouch for them and I do not know what results you will get. But make the choice that best suits your needs.

I have the same unit. Does your 16 pin cable that screws into the unit are they both threaded on the cable side?

Yes, the cable connector has two threaded pins going into the machine, but the ODB side is not threaded. The OBD connector is never threaded on any scanner.

@ModernDIYProjects On my 16 pin cable, only one side is threaded, so I can only tighten down the one side of the connector onto the unit.

In other words, they forgot to thread the other pin that tightens in the unit. I know the plug side that goes to the vehicle never has pins.

It's up to you how to handle this but there are a couple of things to consider. * First of all it really is not that big a deal. I have other cheap scanners that don't even have pins to hold the cable in place. It just gets held in by pressure. So as long as you have one side that will thread in, you should be fine. It is only keeping the cable from sliding out and not really meant to hold a lot of force. * On the other hand if you want to have both sides threaded you could do your own fix. If you have any random old computer lying around you could steal the bad part from an old cable and adapt it to this unit. These cables are the same as the old serial or parallel cables that computers used to use in the old days before USB and HDMI. So that is a quick and easy fix. The parts simply unthread and thread the new part in it's place. * Last alternative is that if this really bugs you, then you can send it back and request a new unit. Totally up to you if you want to go through the hassle of the return. Let me know how it turns out.
