[Spoon] When I first saw the Matrix movies many years ago, they simply didn't mean anything to me... but decades later, after my eyes were opened, so to speak, I watched them with my son and they made 100% perfect sense.

I had a similar thought as you did. I watched the first Matrix in the theatre as a teenager. I went with a friend who was into sci-fi and I wasn't really into that genre so I went to see it just for the cool special effects. I remember liking it the same way I liked any other blockbuster at the time. Mostly because of the visuals and I didn't think much of the storyline. It wasn't until over a decade later when I re-watched it, I realized there was so much more to that movie. Until today, I have researched more into spirituality and reflecting into my own life experiences, watching The Matrix again, it has a whole other level of nuance and meanings I just couldn't comprehend when I was that teenager watching it for the first time. It's amazing when you can watch a movie multiple times and it keeps revealing new things to you. The movie Interstellar also has that same effect for me.

Also, the story of the portal is more common than one might think. In my view, every human being on this planet has at least one vice (that's just how our brains are wired: to attach ourselves to things in the pursuit of comfort and security), so overcoming that vice loop that we are stuck in, may feel like we stepped through a portal which drastically changes who we think we are. The portal is our mind and fear is its gatekeeper.
@ModernIntuitionist3 жыл бұрын
Wonderfully said Eideard! I completely agree with you, the portal story is a universal one, and learning to overcome one's vices is a kind of "gnosis" as well (and also frees us from unconscious vice loops as you say)
@eideardpeschak75463 жыл бұрын
@@ModernIntuitionist We can never be free from the grip of vices, especially in a world like this, where we are bombarded with small baits every day, that lead us to form new vices. Maybe in the past, the significance of portals was something special, but now, since it's so common, its importance has lost the intensity of meaning to the point where it's cast into ignorance. What is happening now could be described as a war of awareness. The sad part is that no one can lure you to step through the portal. Each of us has to experience it at least once to be able to understand what awareness really is and how it feels. Only then we can say that we have a choice to fight in this war.

I have spent many years studying Advaita Vedanta, an orthodox school of Hinduism. Far older than Gnositic writings. I believe that The Matrix, as well as other "science fiction" is Vedanta based. An enormous amount of Vedanta writings are available, including on maya, the concept that obscures reality. Further, it addresses that our problems are created by Ignorance of who and what we really are. These ancient texts are written in Sanscrit (the basis for many European languages) Its teaching method, so ancient yet so modern. This is logic, science, intellectual, really not about religion as usually thought about. The ancients had this figured out 10,000 years ago.
@RenataTheDreemer2 жыл бұрын
I totally get the message behind the 🥄 bending scene. I’ve often described The Matrix as the adult version of Alice In Wonderland. This is my first time hearing about the Gnosticism and look forward to researching this idea even further.

woh!! the amount of work you put into this video shows!! Wasn't aware of the Gnostic before this so thank you for enlightening me on this themes and its connection to one of the most successful philosophical movies of all time. Sad that the sequels didn't continue the tradition, as they're more a cash grab them actually creating something transformative for others. I think they should stop and let the original stand on its own and impact the lives of those who see in generations from now. This channel is turning into what I think made WiseCrack great at the beginning; a fusion of philosophy and culture. I think you have capacity and vision to do more kinds of videos like these, and there is clearly an audience for it!
@ModernIntuitionist3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your very kind comments my friend, that's high praise. I'm a fan of the Wisecrack channel as well. I agree with you that the original Matrix was the best one, and after watching the latest Resurrections, it seems to put an end to the story/franchise. Thanks again, I'm very grateful to have your support!

I agree with you on the sequencies. They dissipated the shock of the initial ideas. The first Matrix planted the seeds of awareness, pointing out that we may possibly be living in an illusory dimension. All the other movies were distracting commentaries on it, overelaborating on sideline philosophical themes.

Brilliantly explained with the deeper spiritual symbolism but I will add The Matrix was also deeply influenced by more older spiritual concepts rooted in Hinduism . The Idea of Maya which also means illusion or a distortion of the reality .The end credits of Matrix Revolutions we hear the soundtrack of 'Asato ma sad gamaya,tamaso ma jyotir gamaya,mrtyor mamrtam gamaya. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. which near to means 'Lead me from the asat to the sat. Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality Aum Peace Peace Peace.. The three Hindu characters in that movie also have symbolism with their names that fits into that story.So the movie is a mix of various ancient tradititons

Our beliefs is the illusory cage that keeps us away from what we inherently know. The ego relies on thinking. The self, on feeling. That's why there is so much stuff in the world that influences the way we feel, cuddling us in the numbness of comfort. Awesome video, as usual.

This reminds me of lucid dreams. Coming to realize you are dreaming while you’re dreaming. Seeing it clearly, even asking questions and understanding the meaning as you wake up. Is there such a thing as lucid living?
@pointzerotwo7 ай бұрын
Good analogy. But then the answer becomes clear when you ask yourself. Lucid dreaming is the ability to control the dream, so absolutely all of us are lucid living, as we are in control. Though if one is asleep to the falseness of this reality, then they are doing what the reality is forcing them to do.

Thank you deeply for the content and in the great format that it is shared and explained, with such detail. From a rather humble perspective, my being feels compelled to share how visually impacting it is any one would have to "take a particular pill" as taking a pill given from the outside, still feels rather trapping, caging... maybe necessary, but also potentially either pill being a matrix on their own, why no pill at all? are we individually and as a collective considered that we are so little that we could never free ourselves understanding ourselves individually and therefore creating or not creating certain limiting and potentially rather controlling collective egregors, having then maybe a more freeing and a bit healthier collective unconscious, or the collective be conscious through each and every individual unconscious to conscious process . If the process could potentially be rooted in thyself, in the "Nosce te Ipsum" Know thyself, explore thyself then... why would such process begin by metaphorically taking a pill? could it potentially be and or become a potential, another form of dogma? belief for the masses? as maybe all those dogmas which express, some more than others, the importance to know thyself, from the inside out, and as bellow above & above bellow... but then could stand on... the world was a mistake. I am rather fascinated with the information you provide and find it so very valuable. My being is still as it has been from the very beginning rather triggered by the concept of "having to take a pill" not disregarding that I might have taken some, each and every time let's say we believe someone and then discover that it was an unfortunate lie, maybe we do take the pill of trusting and believing, and the other person maybe taking the pill of the disregard of a lie. It was the curious click, several videos ago, on one regarding synchronicities that has led me to keep exploring this wonderful channel. Was not aware about the I Chi and so fascinated by it now. Thank you again & Kindest Regards to you for providing this abundance to explore from the inside out always.
