This 1991 Suzuki Cappuccino, nicknamed the "Brappuccino" by its owner, Dustin, has been lightly modified with coil-over suspension, an upgraded turbo, ECU, and exhaust for the 647cc three-cylinder engine, and some lightweight wheels. Of the JDM Kei-style sports cars, we think the Cappuccino is the best to drive, and if you can fit, they are a ton of fun for the money.

You guys don't want to know what they cost now. I have a very well known Cappuccino within the southeast. If you ever see a Salzberg wrapped one with 12 number plates, that's mine. And I get offered $15k for it all the time. It's got some super rare parts on it too from famous Japanese tuner brands.

On some of the cars it was more like 64 kW. There was a lot of nod and wink in the "performance kei car world". Either that or there was a known easy trick you could do to defeat the power limit.

ngold memba lol who ever told you the STI made 300hp to the wheels is lying to you XD. more like 215-225WHP. The Evolution was under rated at 270BHP and so was the LS1 engine at 315BHP. the LS1 was actually closer to 315WHP the Evolution made over 300BHP. But the STI was pretty on point. 300BHP seems about right for an STI.
@GrimReaper1675
@GrimReaper1675 6 жыл бұрын
ngold memba lol all the forums i'm reading say 235-245 whp. stop being a douche bag that can't accept facts. you probably don't own shit. you're only right about the gtr33 that made more like 330 crank hp and not 270 crank hp like the gental mens agreement would claim it is. i'm right you're wrong. you can't be right just because you're salty and wish you had more power XD. you act like i said i hate STI's XD im just stating facts.
@GrimReaper1675
@GrimReaper1675 6 жыл бұрын
ngold memba you're sooo butthurt XD calm down. it says he same thing literally everywhere. 235 -247whp depending on dyno car and weather conditions. I'm not ignorant like you claim and your dumb claim on owning an STI means nothing. AWD cars lose a lot of power to the wheels. you will never see a stock STI with 350 hp crank. there is literally no one pushing this stupid claim besides you. and when i said 215whp i was closer than your fake news claim of 300whp. i found nothing like that and thats something that would of been a pretty big thing and talked about. i live and breathe cars dude. stop acting like you're above people and maybe id actually be happy to talk to you. by the way i might of been wrong by 20 hp give or take but your were wrong by more than me XD a lot more you optimistic liar XD

@@malakisands8180 the issue is safety. Our new car laws are extremely strict in regards to safety features. This is why new cars are bigger and heavier. I don’t think you can make a small car with all the safety requirements. That’s why I said the government needs to create the class. They’d have to make specific regulations in regards to them, and have tax incentives for producing them and owning them. They’re also viable electric city cars that don’t need massive batteries for most daily commuting.

A S13 may with a CA18 may be cheaper than a Capp but it is in no way a better car lol. First off the CA18 isn't the engine you want for that. Second this kei car is like 1500lbs lighter and is like a go cart. You don't really cross shop this Suzuki with the S13. You get a S13 if you want more than just a sporty car, if you want rear seats and space inside of it. You cross shop this Suzuki with a MG Midgit or a Miata.

This is the ONE Car that I've been waiting to see reviewed for years now. I used to be too fat to fit, but now I can. There are a handful of Hayabusa swaps with some Suzuki G13b, Mazda 13b, 4Age engine swaps too. So far, the Capp is still under the radar not blowing up in prices due to the 25 year rule. I'm shopping for a M18a from Australia to swap into one as a father-son project during my summer vacations in Japan. These cars are not to be underestimated on a touge.

That comparison to an Autozam is seriously-good buyer's advice, that you wouldn't think of normally. Both look great, but good to know the Cappu is the better driver's car. Seems like a great way to handle living in L.A. with tight traffic and parking considerations (assuming you're short enough).

This is such a rad miniature car. I love light weight cars, always have. Even though they tend to be bare bones a lot of times, and have almost nothing interior wise to offer, they are just a blast to drive around canyons and stop and go stuff. Especially when they're a little turbo engine like these that weigh around 1400 lbs n factory form. I have seen quite a few of them with Hayabusa swaps, a couple with Rotary 13B swaps, saw one with a Honda Bike engine. Not in person but in videos and other website articles. I think an amazing swap would be the Yamaha YZF-R1 (09'-14' model years) Cross Plane crank 4 cylinders simply because of the fact that it would be similar to the Hayabusa swap (Install wise) but would sound so mean in this tiny car and probably get a ton of looks for sounding so muscular. The Cross Plane crank makes this engine sound similar to a strange V8 which would prompt people to believe this tiny little car might have a huge engine stuffed in their all the while, it would actually be a 1.0 Liter Crossplane crank 4 cylinder.

Please don't ever do a 2-UP one take again in a Kei car. The owner will surely understand if you have to film 60% or so of the one take whilst driving alone when a passenger is 15-20% of the vehicles wet weight! Seems like a wasted oppurtunity because with both of you 200lb plus guys the cappuccino now weighs the same as a MK2 GTI

Sure it weights the same as an Exocet but its got a fucking 650cc motor that barely makes 100hp with a turbo and mods... An Exocet is a go cart. Its a toy. All the points of it not being able to function as a car are irrelevant. I gotta say though I love K cars and and a Cappuccino with a busa motor would be pretty bad ass. But being 6'1" and 225 I don't know bout sitting in that tiny ass car. My s2000 was the limit of being small and comfortable IMO and that car looks like its half the size lol.

I bet you can take this engine and drop it in an Austin 7, old Fiat 500, Fiat 126 or Topolino. It’s got 64 BHP stock, which is way more power than those cars come with out of the factory, is tuneable and you can turn it into something interesting. One thing that the cappuccino has in common with the others is that it’s cute.

How the hell do you insure this or any imported car for that matter? The VINs are too short and most big insurance companies either just won't bother with it or try to give you a super limited "collector" policy that only lets you drive to car shows.

kinda stupid you need to prove you have a parking spot for an electric car. They should be making it as easy as possible to buy one.
