thanks for the compliment. everything done to this car was done by me with the exception of my mechanic messing with abs sensors and wheel speed sensors. I did all the work with some help from friends but it was not touched by a performance shop or anything close. its not supposed to be fast yet, bigger brakes, stickier tires, better suspension is all part of the prep for a supercharger. exhaust was custom made to my liking so I don't really care what others say. thanks for the positivity

I own this vehicle... I bought it in my senior year of college. It currently has 80k Miles and I have sunk no more than $1500 in repairs over the last 11 years... I paid $13k for it. Financed $5k of it and paid that off in one year. To me that's a good buy. It isn't the prettiest car. The interior has not handled the test of time... But i think in the long run for me this car was a cheap and safe car for me to learn how to treat a vehicle. Taught me to respect my car a bit more and not pack it with 7 people and then drive fast over pot holes... Taught me to be easy on my accelerator and brakes if I want them to last. She ugly but she was my first love.

With the placement of that air intake I'd be surprised if it really gained any power once the engine gets hot, it looks like it just sucks in hot air. I see that a lot on modified cars and it makes me scratch my head. This one is certainly not the worst though.

I think his 240 hp estimate is coming from the absurd amount of torque the 3800 V6 makes at mid-rpm range. I can vouch for this as I drive a 2004 Monte Carlo SS that has a K&N intake - which is placed in a much better spot and has a heat shield. Also I put a custom PCM in my car to change the electronic throttle mapping along with the torque abuse settings on the transmission. With just doing these simple mods my car seemed to gain at least 10-15 hp.

...its got much more than stated in the video. that number was given by my parts specialists. 3 different companies gave me there guess and it was between 230-240 not tuned with the current mods. also said it should be making 250 torque. there are a lot of restrictions with these cars so it doesn't take a whole lot to start making power. remember there are lots of other things done that aren't mentioned

the reasoning for the SRI is that I am making the tubing to have the filter relocated to the front left headlight. literally in the headlight. CAI for this car are like 300$ and only go into the fenderwell...I have 18x8 rims that would also get in the way of the CAI

potenza re-71r is an extreme performance summer tire, definitely one of the stickiest street tires acceptable for driving in rain that you can get, but definitely not a race tire.

Michael Guzzo you are exactly right, sounds like you also had a 3800. Yes, some Mustangs get big gains with breathing mods and a tune, but not the 3800 Series III. Even with a supercharger, it only got another 60. I had a 3800 in my GP, and tried getting power out of it, but in the end it was just a waste of money unless you do a top swap and forced induction. So it is not bullshit, but reality.

I have an 03 Monte with the same motor with front header, intake, 2.5" exhaust, tune, and full suspension (lowering springs, KYB AGX shocks, sway bars, strut tower brace) and interior delete. I use it for track days and the occasionally show and it absolutely eats corners. Love the car.

I drive a 2003 Impala 3.4 and I run it hard. Definitely not a fast car but it is good for a starter. I got mine for $1100 with 160k miles.

18 months ago I bought a 2007 Camry, 16000 miles or so, I payed like 5500 for it, I currently have 125000 miles on it. Most of these miles are on the highway, but thank god for some Grandpa who drove it over the last 8 or so years, and gave me a crazy discount on a A-B car that I've driven fairly aggressively despite its lack of pedigree.

Turbo it. 3800performance has a great kit. I've seen w-bodies of many different flavors done this way. With a relatively quiet exhaust they make amazing sleepers. Can you imagine the look on the Camaro driver's face when a Buick LaCrosse beats him stoplight to stoplight? Priceless.
