This is a design I came up with so that the pattern would go all the way through the bar. I'm not sure if it has been done this way before. I have seen someone pour like this but that's where it stops and my swirling begins. Enjoy the video and I hope you give it a try. MSB&B

I do sell entire loafs of soap = 10 bars in my etsy shop. You pick the scent and colors. I do the design.

Funny, one of the things I enjoy about your videos is that we see the soap from start to finish - no choppy stops/starts and edits in between.

Elaine, your work is simply exquisite. I am mesmerized by your creations. It astounds me how your batter stays incredibly fluid thoughout all of the pouring and swirling process. May I please ask for some guidance as to approximately how much water you use as a percentage of lye? Thanks!

+Mark Williams My suggestion is to go buy the book Everything Soaping. This is the book I learned from. I also believe when I add my colors I am using extra olive oil to my batter. I have seen my batter speed up and as soon as I add my color w/the extra olive oil it thins out again. It's not just the recipe I use. There a lot of factors. I hope tis helps. I do not deduct my coloring oil from my recipe.

+Kelly Grace Khoumani Thank you Kelly,Olive, coconut and castor. It is a very simple recipe. The fo's I use behave very well. I mix my colors w/OO. when I add my colors after a thin trace I am adding more oil. I believe this is what make my batter stay workable. Thanks for watching.

Hi Elaine. Inoticed in the video that, the more layers of soap that you added, the more 180 degree turns you made with each color pour. You started out making 2 180 degree turns on a few pours. Then, it went to 3 turns, then 4. I was just curious as to if this was planned or if it was based on feel? Thanks!
@elainewright9750
@elainewright9750 8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Williams It is just on feel. I am watching how much of the colors I am pouring. If there is more of one color left in the cup than the other colors. I pour more of it just so I am not pouring a bunch of the same color on top. It's as simple as that.

Hey Elaine that is beautiful. May I ask what percentage of soft oils you're using please? Your batter seems to stay pretty fluid throughout the entire process. I noticed that your tips were above 100 degrees, so I was just curious how you're still able to have so much time and not worry about your batter getting thick on you In all of your recipes.

Her recipe of oils is more like a Bastile soap. Olive, Coconut and Castor. I was also wondering why her oils stay so fluid for such a long period of time. Her fragrance also seem to behave.

+Lisa Romero Rona & Lisa I do use Oo, Co, & castor. I have been thinking about that and I came up with the idea that when I put my colors in I am adding more OO, I don't discount from my recipe for the oil I use for my colors. I noticed several time that my batter was setting up a bit before I added my color mixed with OO. That may be one thing to try w/ your recipes. It would be like super fatting.
