This is the best Eurorack patching tutorial on the internet. Here I am 11 months later after my last comment, and I'm still coming back to this.

Wow. The Trident/C4RBN mix sounds amazing off the bat and only gets better with each element added.

Right? It took me a minute to warm up to this filter, I think I like the sound of the 2 pole better than the 4 pole.

There is something about how mathematical music making is in CV that suits my brain really well. For the moment I can only afford hardware midi and sequencers which is a decent approximation on good days but...to me this is the music of the cosmos

I am blow away by this series of yours! By any chance you can make a series about getting started with modular synths, with advice for newbies on a budget? Thanks!

This is a fantastic patch walkthrough and the results were wonderful. I definitely learned some handy tricks here. Random musing: a second uO_C set to Piques mode would make a compact replacement for the Quadrax, and would simplify the ADSR for the kick drum.

Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoy the series. Good point about the second o_c, it would be handy for more envelopes.

Just found this video by going down some crazy rabbit hole. Really enjoyed how you build from scratch and explain everything (I'm a newb so it helps). Not to mention it sounded really good! Subbed 👍

Thank you, great tutorial
@c0j1r03 жыл бұрын
That's wicked, my dude. That genre sounds a lot like Psytrance. You mentioned not having a compressor, but there's a Disting Mk4 there. It has like 3 compressor algorithms in it. Sick patch though.

Good point! What I should have said is, with this series I'm trying to approach problems with modular-brain, and skin the cat in a different way than I would with a DAW or traditional studio hardware.

This is suuuuch a good video. You are a modular prodigy, I hope I can get as good as you some day. Do you have a Patreon, would love to learn more from you. And yes, as someone said below, this is getting into psytrance territory, mostly because of the arpeggiated sounding bassline and the acidy undertones.

This tutorial is amazing! I'm assuming you meant Quantermain instead of Quadraturia for the O and C app you're using :)
@KindStranger3 жыл бұрын
Good catch, I did mean Quantermain 👍🏻
@Tbonebonemendez33 жыл бұрын
Smart patching bro! One question: do you organize your modules to fit the performance, or do you rather try to make use of what you have already in? Pulling out that slew limiter was a bit unexpected, but rather welcome :D BTW I prefer Stager to Quadrax when it comes to modulation, fits the workflow better and has as many functions if not more, you should give it a try!
@KindStranger3 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty well balanced box, so I don't do much rearranging. I'll swap out a component sometimes (Monsoon for Sarajewo, or Morphagene for ER-101) I've never checked out Stages, I oughta give the VCV version a whirl.
@Tbonebonemendez33 жыл бұрын
@@KindStranger I see. I challange you to use stages for the following functions: sample and hold, slew limiter, clock divider/multiplier, audio rate vco ;)

Fairly new to the modular world but I’ve learned so much from this video alone. I’ve been using my attenuverter a lot more, for instance. Thanks for putting these out! Also Pamela’s New Workout is my favorite thing to say, I’m afraid we differ there 😊
